i thought it would go away after we moved. i thought my constant HGTV fixation was some subconscious fear of moving and that i was only watching 10 episodes of property virgins a week to make me feel more comfortable with the idea of going to a new place. then i fell in love with sophie allsop and....and then we went without cable for a month in the new place and all was good, but we got basic cable yesterday and i spent a good two hours watching house hunters international and i think i need help...but i know that the property shop and for rent will be on soon...
things really do start to go downhill majorly after you hit 40, huh? (somewhere young angry sarcastic scott is retching into his meisterbrau.)

while i have not reached the addiction level, rest assured you are not alone. hgtv is like the first thing i check when whatever i'm watching goes to commercial.

it's all about the open floor plan, marble countertops, and stainless steel appliances. and hardwood floors. carpet makers must weep when they watch that channel.

Ha ha Scott, I totally went through a Bob Villa/home-improvement show phase (even the show Home Improvement!) whilst living in Philly in my early 30s (a loooong time ago) -- something about being a Dad of kids just reaching a school-age, maybe. I got over it though. So maybe you will, too.

i think there is a big part of me that does want to find the place/house where i can just live forever and never move from with maria and the kids. a place that feels right. we really love it around here in western mass so far, and this might be it. the vineyard never felt like that for me. i was always googling mainland real estate listings in the winter there. um, so i think that's why i'm so fascinated by these home shows. especially a show like house hunters. though i like all the design shows too. which is weird. curb appeal! i watch a show called curb appeal!
