Just took this Snob-o-meter test. How snobby are you?

Archel, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

the three of us in my office did it together the other day and got 59%, i think.

toby, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am 65% snob but it's a stupid quiz. Take the American Bravado test instead.

N., Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

My daft computer won't let me do the test. However after I denounced BB3 Kate as a council-estate faced tart I think that everyone who knows me would give me about 85%. (But I am not a twat at all. I hope.)

Emma, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Though mind you I did that 'are you a pikey' (apologies for offence at the use of this word blah blah) and didn't get much of a snobby score in that. Though I am no pikey.

Emma, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Though I am a bit previous with my posting.

Emma, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

54% - desstined for a life with 2.4 volvos - cheers quiz.

Anna, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

And 53% for American Bravado - Anna's World of Average. The depression.

Anna, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

37% Snob, 56% Bravado. Shocking.

Graham, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

59% despite never voting in Pop Idol.

RickyT, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I was going to say HA! I am the least snobby/twatty of you all with only 37%, but it seems that Graham is also keepin' it real with the same percentage.

Archel, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am very angry that my company is deliberately preventing us employees from gaining deeper insight into our personalities by blocking all the self-testing sites. Now I will have to assign myself percentages based on entirely arbitrary things and that's hardly scientific.

Emma, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

39% bravado. Do not Ph34r me.

N., Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am, like, 57% total American Warbird mannnn, not that I understood most of the questions. But that's probably cos I have a council- estate soul.

Archel, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

No time for tests, but Londoners have you heard that annoying snobby 27 year old lady on the Transport for London ad on Xfm ! he voice is so snobby/ sloaney Kensington.

DJ Martian, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

snob: fifty-four.

richard john gillanders, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

WHAT DOES PRIMARK SAY TO YOU! It says to me WHERE I GO TO BUY VOLUMINUS GYM PANTS! Primark is GREBT!

Sarah, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

52% snob. I did the American bravado one ages ago and got not at all American as I recall and I can't be bothered doing it again *yawn* so childish really. (snob rating RISES!!!!!!)

Sarah, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i am 56 percent patroit, ph33r my colonialism

anthony, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

48% snob, 53% whatever the hell that other test was about.

Jonnie, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

59 percent. Part Eurotrash, part snob, I guess.

cuba libre (nathalie), Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I was so happy to see that Primark question. Primark is great! And is where I go whenever I feel miserable.

Archel, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah me too, I walk round thinking 'well it seems there are some people worse off than me, they are shopping here'. Har har do I win extra snob points now?

Emma, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes you win the special 70-thousand-acre-private-country-estate face award :)

Archel, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am currently wearing primark socks! 5 pairs for £2. I don't know if you have primarks up in the north. I've not seen one, but then I've not been looking.

Steve.n., Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The test won't load. I dunno, I reckon I will get about 45% if it does ever load.

jel --, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

According to the American bravado test, I am at 71% a total American warbird. I think this test is flawed.

Dan Perry, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

If you've got QuickTime, you need to de-associate it with Shockwave files or flash (can't remember which).

Nathan Barley, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

46% on the bravado test!

jel --, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

They have the biggest Primark in the world in Manchester.

Graham, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I gave up on the snob test...

jel --, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

48% snob, 60% bravado. I pH34r nobody.

DG, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

67% snob; 64% red-blooded AMERICAN. Hmmm...how to reconcile these? Because, y'all know we don't have any of that class nonsense here in AMERICA! ;^}

j.lu, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

EEK. 74% snob. These tests hate me.

Dan Perry, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am 46% snob - I think most of this is due to snobbery of intellect and taste, more than being middle class (though I certainly am that too). I'll try the American Bravado one now (and score very badly). Ah, 42%. Higher than I expected, but it means only 10% are less patriotic than me. I'm not sure how anyone can be less of an American patriot than me, but there we are.

Martin Skidmore, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Only 80% snob? Precisely the sort of drivel we would expect from the pedestrian assessments of lager-bloated fools too low-born to appreciate proper snobbery.

nabisco%%, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(Also I'm American and had no clue what half of that stuff was.)

nabisco%%, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

46% snob/39% Bravado...I'm actually kinda bummed I was ranked that high a snob. But as an American, I'm kinda happy with these results.

Brian MacDonald, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

52% snob but half the questions I had no clue what those crazy Brits were talking 'bout.

bnw, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The snob quiz is obviously snobbier than any of us.

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

HAHAHA I AM SNOBBIER THAN ALL OF YOU.

nabisco%%, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

haha i am 51% snob and 71% american bravado!!!

geeta, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

46%, but I'm not ashamed of my middle class roots. And, please, what is rusticating? And is being ashamed of being seen with The Sun a good or a bad thing?

Madeleine, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

41% snob!

jel --, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Rusticated = suspended from university for a term or longer for academic / other bad behaviour. From, er, when people used to have to go back to their rustic non-academic life milking cows instead of reading books. I think I might have made the last bit up though it sort of makes sense. I knew 2 people this happened to, the scamps.

Emma, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I rusticated myself from Cambridge, possibly, by quitting. Does that count? Perhaps it should be called autorustication. I don't think I stayed long enough to see any other examples of rustication.

Martin Skidmore, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

at Harvard you can get "expunged"

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Is that like a pogrom?

Josh, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I really was hoping for more fine distinctions between snob/twat.

felicity, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It's slightly misleading to assume that knowing what a chukka is etc contributes to your overall snobbiness - it could just mean that you have a head full of entirely useless information. Which is probably why most of ILE got relatively high scores...

Archel, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

quitting definitely doesn't count as rustication, martin. best way to get rusticated = getting caught roofclimbing, although i don't think anyone's been sent down for that since about 1970; these days they just make you move out of your college rooms instead.

(which reminds me of a story my sister told me last year: some girls in her year had a massive drinking society party in their rooms, and there was so much vom that it dripped through the floorboards and through the ceiling of the room below! yuck!! anyway they were just fined and never allowed to live in college again).

toby, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Fucking drinking societies. They get away with murder.

RickyT, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am 63% snob. Not knowing what Primark was made that question rather difficult.

MarkH, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

One bloke I know got rusticated for being a lazy git (academically speaking. Well and everything else) and another for an incident involving a bunch of 4th year linguists (incl. me), a locked MCR drinks cabinet and harassment of the MCR victualler culminating in someone i.e. bloke who got rusticated pissing in the victualler's bin late at night (the bin was outside his room).

Emma, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(I hope this doesn't come across as some kind of 'we were mad, us' anecdote. It was all just a bit drunk and studenty.)

Emma, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What is a 'victualler'?

pleb, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It was the bloke on the MCR (= Middle Common Room as opposed to JCR / SCR) committee who was responsible for, er, victuals i.e. the stash of toast, tea, coffee, milk and most importantly the bizarre selection of bouze in the drinks cupboard. Basically he was supposed to leave the cupboard open till midnight (I think) every night then lock it but on this occasion he was entertaining a young lady so had not opened it. Our guts were shrieking as the college bar had closed and there you have it, a recipe for conflict.

Emma, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

who the fuckks asking?get lost looser!i hate people like you!fuckking pussy!

go to hell and die!, Sunday, 2 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

one month passes...
Er... Oh dear... 87%. That's one of the top. I blame my parents. They are the ones who send me to a private all girls boarding school. Oh well at least I didn't get 100% then I'd be really annoyed!

Sally, Saturday, 27 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

. I didn't foolow the American thing. I'm British. I got a strong accent and all. As in Tomb Raider strong.

Sally, Saturday, 27 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

With a mail address like that I'm not surprised. Wow.

Matt, Saturday, 27 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Matt, you are talking about strange e-mails? yours have a comma, man

Chupa-Cabras, Saturday, 27 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

D'you know I'd not noticed that? Cheers.

Matt, Saturday, 27 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm 43% snobby.

di, Saturday, 27 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm 50% american.

di, Saturday, 27 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I took the test, and guess what? I am 85% American War Bird! which is odd considering I'm a true blue Brit who has never even been to America (yet. Hmmmmmm............
