BT Mobile? Seems to be gorn, and it's "Total Broadband" now.... You know anything about this?

A few years ago, I was able to upgrade my mobile with a better model, by plumping for an expensive calls/texts package, that was on 'offer' at 50% of eventual price for 3 months, and I was able to (as they suggested but obv did not remind me) cancel before it moved to the higher price. Ergo, new phone for cheap.

So anyway, I thought I should see about upgrading my wife's phone in a similar method, only to find that BT Mobile is no more, and they are promoting this 'total broadband' thing, where you get a HTC S620, and 'contact to the internet' within either your home hub (which we have), or 'hotspots' out and about.

1) It's still a mobile phone, right?
2) The handset, any good?
3) How many hotspots are there? Or will it be like the Rabbit system all over again?

So, who here has gone for this, and what's yr experience been like?

1) yes
2) Its OK, windows mobile which is still somewhat iffy.
3) This isn't like rabbit, its a proper cellphone, I think they are trying to promote hotspot web access, which is rubbish on a mobile when you have always on 3G instead.
