Friends who tarnish you name.....

I have a friend, actually my best friend who was looking for a new job. Smart kid, law school grad and wanted to get into the finance industry. Only problem was he has no financial experience at all. He was willing to take an entry level job here at my company if I could get him in. I called the recruiter and passed on his resume and cover letter as well as put in a few good words. The recruiter told me to have him call her a week later to set up something. A month later he hasn't called and I ask him every day if he plans on calling the recruiter. "Yeah, I should do that today.", he says. But he never does it. Should I waste my breathe anymore or has he already ruined it for me and himself?

Don't bother doing him any more favors. I wouldn't worry too much about the recruiter unless you work closely with her. If so, you could thank her for considering your friend and say he got something else.

The fucker also asked me if I could get him into my department and I asked him if he would mind me as his boss and his reply was "Well you don't have a college degree and I consider myself smarter than you, so I probably would mind." I guess putting in your time at the same company for 5 years has no merit to someone with a law degree. Should I really consider this kid to be my bestest friend?

No, he sounds like an arse. I suggest he becomes formerlythebestestfriendofpoopsmcgee.

He can remain you friend if he will submit to a rigorous crotch- kicking.

If he can say the phrase "would you like fries with that" with a degree of sincerity he may turn out OK. But don't hold yr breath
