I remember as a painfully shy teenager getting my first one and being exceedingly proud. Proved I could pull, much to the bemusement of muscly surfer types who all thought no-one would be interested in bookish little old me, y'see. However as time has gone on they become more of a nuisance, though not quite as incriminating as scratches on the back. Now they're hard to explain.

My mum and my sister came to collect me from a friend's house one morning after a classic teen party (my first) at which I had done some passionate NECKING (also my first) but was completely unaware of the lurid bruises all over my throat.
