post your best. or worst.
for a game next month that happens to be on d-day, i have come up with:
OMAHA BEACH
regular omaha, but if 6's or 4's come up on the table, they're wild. (cuz of 6/6/44, you see.)

(poker puritans who don't invent games can go complain about it somewhere else.)

last month one of my goofball friends invented
WHO'S GOT THE PICKLE?
which was... i'm trying to remember. i think the deal was two cards down, which you could look at, then another two cards down that you couldn't look at, then one card up. then final round of betting, and then you could flip up the two hidden cards to see who won. it was pretty stupid.

the week the eliot spitzer scandal broke we had a game called Client #9, but i don't remember how it went...

Me and my brother and cousins used to play Dr. Pepper when we were kids. (10s, 2s and 4s were wild...usually we were playing 7-card stud.)

i think i played a game called dr. pepper once too, but i don't remember the rules. maybe yours spread nationwide.
also, a friend has suggested an addition to omaha beach above: if you have a 6 or 4 in your hand but none come up on the table, those cards are dead (can't be used in any hand). casualties, i guess is the idea.

texas low-down: hold-em but if you hold 7 2 offsuit holecard and don't hit any pairs or make a straight/flush etc then it's the nuts.

I've read about that one...apparently some of the pros play it for extra lols.

Is there as much poker on tv in the UK as there is in the US? There's generally some on every day between Fox and GSN.
there is quite a bit now, mostly on the sports channels though i think
although ITV/C4 probably has some too

I invented CROAKER, which is a five-card-draw game that splits the pot between the high poker hand and the high cribbage hand.
I've also played the much more intricate SWINGO, invented by Steve Albini and detailed here, in a game with him and Kim Deal.

swingo sounds cool. i'm adding it to the arsenal, see how it plays out.
