Matrix does it as an integral plot point, as first grade scepticism and as an ironic comment on the nature of real life (ie the real life there is the nasty, futuristic one).
Vanilla Sky (and Open your Eyes)does it as a punishment for the narcissistic lead character.
Waking Life is the exception - he doesn't wake up and we know he is dreaming from the get go. As a discusion on the nature of dreams it is excellent. But it doesn't use "and then I woke up" as a plot point cos he doesn't and it doesn't really have a plot.
However since I don't dream I cannot comment on the vercity of any of these dreamlike representations.
