Best Highest Grossing NC-17 Movie of the Year (2008-1990)

It's possible that there were other censored movies that grossed more but I don't know how to search for them.

I'm skipping PG-13 because that list was so boring.

Oooh Crash and Showgirls, two of my ten favorite films of the 1990s. I'm giving it to Crash cuz it needs more love and cuz it's been eclipsed by that other awful Oscar bait one.

Wow! Eyes Wide Shut made that much $? I suppose with Cruise/Kidman at the helm, it makes sense. I love watching it despite its unfortunate wrist-slapping final third.

why didn't you make the poll what it says? as you point out, a lot of these were never rated anything but R. just skip the years where no NC-17s were released.

Bad Education was NC-17? Really? It's the best movie on the list so it's nice that it actually is NC-17.

Foreign can be NC-17, since $5M grossses register as "zilch" to Hollywood types.

I just don't even remember what would be so saucy about it. Sex & Lucia seemed much more racy IIRC.

wow, I haven't seen any of these. Unless there's another well-known NC-17 movie out there, the only one I have probably seen is Kids, which I'm surprised isn't on here.

I guess it came out the same year as Showgirls.
