This is the kind of light-hearted fun that in no way makes donating a game of one-upmanship.

I was watching My Monkey Baby on TV.

ha, so was I

my donation was to deduct a small amount from what ilx owes me.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH! I want a monkey baby as long as it's one that won't rip off my face or the faces of my loved ones.

I have no excuse other than I can be clueless and just completely missed it. Hopefully I can contribute positively in other ways though.

I was about to donate, then I was like "Do I have a PayPal account? I don't remember. I guess I'll do this later." And then a few minutes later it was over.

I didn't even see it, serves me right for working when I should be on ILX

I was busy reading another forum and missed all the fun.

I was at a birthday party but would happily donate.

'Monkey baby' is my mom's nickname for her/our current poodle.

I went to Tesco and bought a basil plant for 12p

Seroiusly how quickly did this happen? I looked at ILX at work y'day afternoon and no mention. I come on again this morning and it all over bar the shotting.

(sorry to sound so grumpy - but I am srsly missing pretty much everything lately because the bulk happens in the 12 hours of my late evening/sleep/morning commute. It sucks. I cant keep up!)

It all happened in just over an hour, so more people missed it than actually participated, most likely.

I actually did see at some point when around $120 was donated, had to run out for a few and by the time I came back it was over!

It took exactly 58 minutes and 11 seconds to hit the goal.

I totally didn't read the thread; sorry, guys!

If the widget were to go back up for a few days or a week (giving everybody a shot at donating no matter what time zone they're in) and we got several years' worth of hosting money, I'd totally shut up about wanting ads on the site.

as with public radio and everything else, I am on a fixed income.

I think I went to work about twenty minutes before the lovefest began. Unlike the vast majority of ILX, when I go to work I am offline.

I am very ashamed of my freeloading status and I promise I will make it up to ILX by providing many fat, juicy, slow-moving straight lines to be pounced on by the quicker members of ILX, such as those who contributed moolah while I was away.

Well, I managed to contrib last time...
