Frank Rijkaard vs Ruud Gullit

Who do you rate most? The versatile attacking midfielder or the versatile defensive midfielder? Consider both their playing and managerial careers. Consider also, if you like, Gullit's punditry career, and also his attempt at being a fashion guru. Who was the best passer? The best leader? The best at spitting on Germans?

I was lucky enough to see Gullit play for Chelsea (only Ballon D'Or winner I think I've seen play) but Rijkaard is pretty much responsible for the Barcaporno team that is today. Can't really choose between them as players because I was only a toddler when that Sacchi side was at it's best. Rijkaard.

rijkaard seemed like the ugly duckling of that trio when I was a kid, though I may have got that one a bit wrong I accept. But he keeps growing in stature as time passes (until maybe today) whereas when I last saw Ruud in action he was managing a team which included Gordon Ramsay

Didn't see enough of Rijkaard play, but they're both sinfully delicious in the Pro Evo Classic holland team.

as a player Gullit, my gut feeling says he was more important in the Euro 88 win.

as a manager Rijkaard, but i think managers are overrated.

i read Rijkaard is going to coach Galatasaray now. Weird choice. Manchester City would've been interesting.

Ah Ruudy, you came to Chelsea and made us great again. And then you went and did that Pizza Hut advert, asked for 'netto' and buggered off to Newcastle.

Anyway, isn't the correct answer Marco Van Basten?

i suddenly doubt if Rijkaard even played, he was part of the squad though.

If this is going to become a thing- whoever votes Philip Cocu in 'Cocu v. F De Boer v. Koeman' deserves a SB.
