It gets so cruelly hot here in the summer, even at night, but I can't sleep without at least a sheet covering me. It feels so uncustomary that it prevents my body from recognizing it's sleeptime. OTOH so much heat trapped in any layer of fabric, no matter how thin, isn't conducive to sleep either.
Desert dwellers or hot summerland peeps, how do you deal with the heat while you sleep?

One sheet works fine for me. I have flannel sheets, and they're a little more substantial than regular sheets.

A crisp cotton sheet is almost necessary for me too, Abbott. At the VERY WORST when I've been in the middle of a heat-wave in a tiny apartment, I've put a sopping wet cold towel over top of me and turned the fan onto the towel. The evaporation is better than the fan alone.

One light sheet and a fan that sort of blows up under it. Usually one leg sticking out.

if one thin sheet is still problematic, try hanging one or both legs out of the sheet, so that it's mostly just covering your torso

one sheet, but i'll stick my feet out the side of it so my feet are nice and chilly. i'll usually wake up around 6am and throw a comforter on, then

It rarely gets too hot for a duvet here but I really need the weight of bedclothes even when it is. If pushed, I'd probably use the duvet cover topped by a crocheted blanket.

One sheet, fan, with lots of me sticking out. The sheet seems kind of unnecessary but just lying there with no blankets of any sort feels wrong.

AC on full blast while covered with a down comforter is how I roll.

I want to go to there.
Although to be fair it has yet to be too hot for a duvet where I already am. But that horrible four to six weeks is coming.
