my friend who works at a tea shop gave me a blend of pineapple payaya & white coconut teas which i plan to brew, ice, and mix with tequila at some point not too distant

hot toddies w/ black tea in the winter are also fine but i cannot speak too highly of these iced tea cocktails

yah most of the ones i know are hot drinks um this seems pretty good tho:

Genteel Gentlemen’s Lemon Fizz

1 cup water
4 teaspoons black Darjeeling 2nd flush tealeaves
4 tablespoon ginger syrup*
5-6 lemons, juiced
1 cup gin
2 cups sparkling water
Tea ice cubes**

In small saucepan, bring 1 cup water to boil. Add the tealeaves and keep boiling for 15 minutes. Strain into a clean punch bowl. Use the old tealeaves for chagra (optional).

Add the lemon juice, ginger syrup, and gin to the punch bowl, and then slowly stir in the sparkling water. Add the tea ice a few minutes before serving.

does sweet tea mix well with whiskey, i wonder, or would rum be a better choice

roman knockwell (elmo argonaut), Saturday, 13 June 2009 19:25 (sixteen years ago)

There is a sweet tea flavored vodka out now that I've heard people swear by!

two years pass...

My friend has CHAI VODKA. I have no idea if it's commercial or home-steeped. What do we make with it?? Trying to minimize the cream/milk options here since she's lactose intolerant and I'm borderline, but what else?

1 part chai vodka
3 parts chicken vindaloo
dash bitters
over cracked ice

honestly, i can't think of anything that would taste good with chai vodka. except iced tea maybe. with lemon and sugar.

Little GTFO (contenderizer), Monday, 16 January 2012 02:26 (thirteen years ago)

I'd mix it with some dark rum and orange bitters.

I would think it might be okay with milk, in a white-russian style? I mean, chai's usually best with lots of milk anyway...otherwise *shrug*

Normally I wouldn't use vodka in a hot toddy but it could work out with the chai spicing.
