Oh my god, the work is piling up! Not only do I have to write personally to every
paper in the US to ask them to cover my
American Patchwork Tour, not only do I have to
struggle with the American Embassy in Tokyo to get my visa in time for a flight to
the US on Wednesday (looking increasingly unlikely), not only do I have to labour in
Photoshop to make
photo-collages of Tokyo's ivy-covered houses to
advance the cause of environmental awareness, but now I have to answer a whole
bunch of threads which oblige me to unearth old poems and watch football on TV!
On the football thing, could I delegate? Andy Miller, who's been a Momus fan for
years (Bobby Gillespie once kicked him in the toilet of Brighton's Zap Club for
standing up for me), has just published a book about
why he hates sport
, and particularly football. (He doesn't mind crazy golf.) It's called 'Tilting At
Windmills' and it was
reviewed in the Guardian by another old friend of
mine, super-aesthete Michael Bracewell.
I am sure if outre belt-wearing were a competitive sport, I would win every time,
though.

I'm not sure if Momus answered my questions on Mugs or Umbrellas!
What's up with that?

hah! the super madrigal bros website is fucking cool! have they
heard of the minibosses?
Thank you! And as a matter of fact yes we have heard of the
Minibosses, and Everyone, and Nintendo Power, and Generic. Actually
one of these bands used to do a drums-and-guitar rendition of the
Super Mario 2 underworld theme that really socked home...
