anyway, i have never seen night of the lepus. i've seen clips, which looked funny, but also very slow. and maybe i'm lying and did rent it once upon a time, but was either so bored or so hi (perhaps both?) that i now remember nothing about it. scenario is credible, but who's to say? must rectify, because i obviously missed something. killer rabbits? how could that not be the greatest thing ever?

it is totally hilarious, because the killer rabbits are shot from below to make them look larger and scary - but i think that most of the rabbit close-ups make the rabbits look anxious and confused: they have fake blood on their mouths that someone else put there, and they really just want to be put down and allowed to graze in peace.

that's what i remember. these low angle shots of giant rabbit faces, while the rabbits chewed things and occasionally hopped around. accompanied by spooky music and reaction shots of terrified humans. this was all supposed to communicate horrifying menace, but mostly it looked like you get what you pay for with bargain rabbit wrangler.

it is one of my favorites for that reason!

plus the word "lepus" is fun to say!

okay see, that looks BRILLIANT and AMAZING. but what i remember (vaguely) is that it gets old fast. then again, it was a long, long time ago, and i've been known to to be seriously rong about shit. on occasion.

but you get consistent giant rabbit action - as opposed to Godmonster of Indian Flats - where you really don't see enough of the pathetic looking mutant sheep creature to make it amazing.

feel woefully undereducated. never seen godmonster, though i've been hearing/reading about it for years. to tell you the truth, i haven't spent much time cultivating so-bad-it's-good shit. saw the room recently, manos some time ago, glenn or glenda somewhere back in the mists. none featured giant sheeps or rabbits or anything. ;_______;
