with the emo market about to crash (despite robust trading) and nu-metal and nu-rock! already half-sunk, there's a huge potential for a special new subbacultcha to arise pheonix-like.

If you were president of life, what would be the teen scene of tomorrow? clothes, music, hair-do's, books, etc.

and if you pull an L. Ron Hubbard & cash in on your fantasy subculture you owe me half the profits, ya prophet.

Everybody would wear white linen with good shoes, have short hair, play can/pil/79 fall music, and read Chesterton and Belloc.

2003: warriors/clockwork orange-style costumed gangsterism: eg baseball furies, sheiks etc... in fact cosplay & plushie weirdness will become more socially acceptable - climaxing with fur-grafting cosmetic surgery for teens, bollywood dancehall pop fusion inevitable momentarily and will go supernuts. "backwoods" stereotypes will be lovingly resurrected - first wave is bubba sparxx, nappy roots which logically means today's emo kids will be dressing like The Band in 6 months.

Everybody would wear white linen [...]

This is probably a personal failing, but my first thought with this was "Klan chic". Eek.

pirate talk vs prohibition era-style gangster talk?

The stage is set for the return of SHOEGAZING! Now under the banner dreampop the fashion, the fringes the wide array of pedals all come back into vogue. MBV release long awaited follow up, Mean Red Spiders hit it big due to Oslen Twins using their song in a straight to VHS release hit, The Rieds kiss and makeup and the NME tears it all down four years from now.
That would be my scene, though www.onlyundies.com would still be around if not bigger then Makeout club.
