Damon with fake nose & goofy mustache looks too reminiscent of Pitt's "hey look, I'm playing a stoopid gym trainer" in last Coen film.

I liked it.

i enjoyed it. not great or anything but it was amusing.

i liked it ok but i have to admit to being pretty disappointed. as mentioned upthread, this movie has like everything (and everyone) awesome. it just didn't really make good on the promises i had dreamed up in my head.

i just listened to the this american life rebroadcast of the adm story and now i'm kinda psyched to see this. they said it is really true to the real deal and yet also funny. i will probably be let down.

i do think the story and whitacre are compelling, but that it just didnt work as a movie

uh this was great. actually a movie with an interesting, unique story for once. liked the empty midwestern landscapes and the narration was hilarious.

it seems oddly anachronistic ... takes place in the early 90s but the look, title design, and score (hamlisch) are very late 60s/early 70s. that might be representative of the rural midwest in the early 90s as far as i know.

The best parts were the goofy internal monologue and the crazy lies by omission that keep popping up at the end.

This was good but pretty weightless. There are few movies where I'd prefer to wait for the DVD, since I like feeling immersed by the big screen, but this almost made me wish I was watching it at home, drinking a beer or whatever.

Also: weird that so many comedians were in the movie. Even the Smothers Brothers are in it, separately -- Tommy's a lawyer, and Dick's a judge.

Q: Who's wearing the hairpiece? Bakula or his character?

otm - luvd his tv show concept - overall i give this film my full support

My gf really liked it and sez that Bakula does not disappoint. I am still looking forward to this.

this was weird, i wanted to like it a lot more than i did. the whole thing had this unshakeable "fargo" vibe, which i dig by default but the tone was REALLY weird, i didnt really care about any of the characters on way or another, and it wasn't all that funny/kinda dragged toward the end. damon was alright, but the best part of the casting was being able to go "that guy! love that guy!" like 10 times

this was good, definitely soderbergh's best in a long time, but needed a kick up the arse. there even were some funny lines in the trailer that were cut, i think. i feel bad for the movie because it will be seen as a flop, and perhaps it was a bit too subtle for a big star vehicle.

Thoroughly enjoyed this, especially all of the crazy interior monologues.

Oh, and if you want to see great acting, just watch all those lawyers and FBI folks when they're listening.

I liked this. Definitely had a very okay this is wacky take on the Insider vibe that really worked for the story.

this was great. did a wonderful job of unravelling whitacre, soderbergh's patience with the character really pays off.

n/a otm upthread about the look, the music too, Eazy right about the other players' reactions to damon (who's also great)

man i just saw this and totally loved it. also loved how the casting of like EVERY COMEDIAN EVER was sort of like getting hit over the head w/ the "fuck u serious types this is a comedy" stick repeatedly.

bakula was so so good (damon and the rest of the cast as well, but oh man A+ bakula)
