Someone who believes in that astrology* nonsense should explain why ILE and Mark S and a few others have birthdays at this time. Right in the middle of Gemini, more or less - is that significant? Does ILE have birth date characteristics? Was it created as a birthday gift for Mark?
*At work I often deliberately mix up astronomy and astrology because one of my colleagues is an astronomer, but I will resist that here. People here just think I'm stupid when I do things like that.

Was reading and chuckling at some early Krazy Kat Sundays earlier - the introduction to which I have him to thank for.

― Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 8 June 2022 13:28 (three years ago)
Oh I'm glad that recording is still in circulation.
For all the time I knew Martin, I wasn't really into Science Fiction, so rarely talked with him about it. But I was lucky enough to inherit part of his SF book collection, and in the years since his death have made good progress reading those, plus lots more SF. And almost always, I wish I could talk to Martin about what I've just read. That's just one of the many things I miss.
― Ward Fowler, Wednesday, 8 June 2022 14:12 (three years ago)
Truly a good fellow. Grateful to have stayed with him that one time, and truly a remarkable collection of many things he had, an ultimate library.
― Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 8 June 2022 16:17 (three years ago)

Still seeing his doughty smile, his wise gruff self deprecation. His vast hinterland of polygamous orgies and science fiction and japanese art.

There’s a big old school comics fan meet-up at the next London Comic Mart in a couple of weeks where I’m sure a glass and a toast will be raised in Martin’s memory - he is always missed.
