yeah, we stayed at an 18th cent. spa resort town called Bad Ems in a swank hotelsuite and ate at the terrace overlooking the river; the sauna at the spa had all these ridiculous new age immersive environments in which to pamper yrself- the most trippy/psychedelic one was a little pool for two inside a giant fiberglass clam shell copying Botticelli's "Venus" with piped in whale songs and a timed colorful lightshow/sensory program of synchronized water temperatures and sea smells. It made me feel like Patsy in some old episode of Absolutely Fabulous, really over the top and silly and fun.
