Is it terrible to drink a whole bottle of whiskey by yourself in one evening?

i did this once (on a train). i think it is probably ok to do once in your life, but nagl long term.

xp i can barely get a glass of Grant's down, a whole bottle is a wonderful achievement. i've got a 10yr old Macallan stored though and in comparison it would be easy to drink a whole bottle of it, but it would be hard to settle on a soundtrack good enough for it...

Yeah don't do this. I drank almost 2/3 of a bottle of gin a couple weeks ago and finished it off last night. Ugh. I now know why I had pretty much stopped drinking until then.

at least eat a olive or a Ritz cracker if you have to drink the whole thing

with mixers i can still just about get through a bottle of gin, but i was at the top of my game when i drank that bottle of whiskey alone. no way could i do that now.

drank a bottle of gin last nye with tom collins, but that was over like six hours and although i drunk it on my own i was not, y'know, alone. it's the alone that is hard. difficult to stay focussed.

Thing is I was like,"Oh I've had a shitty day, I'm going to finish off this gin" but with gin that's never really a good idea and all of a sudden it's a couple hours later and I'm sadder and worse off than I was before.

i am trying to get through this measly bottle of wine but i am too slow! hell, i have another bottle waiting in the wings. it isn't going to drink itself! and, yes, i am alone! woohoo!

I drink so infrequently these days that when i do it hits me so hard. ugh. Yeah, I don't plan to be getting close to any gin for quite a while.

First mixed with Coke, then I ran out of Coke. I was, in fact, puking my guts out by the end, although not out the window, but on a carpet and in a sink. Also, later that night, I passed out while seated on a toilet and slept in the stall for about an hour.

gin is a whole other being than whiskey imo, whiskey may drive you crazy, gin just gets you drunk

no way nothing gets me crazier than gin. gin is way scarier than whiskey.

but, you know, i love it.

but it's the only booze that can actually make me act crazy. like, even , mean, sometimes. and i am totally not a mean drunk.

i never get this weepy angry thing people talk about with gin.

T, the bottle I plowed my way through most of a couple weeks ag was a liter. If I had actually drank the whole thing I probably would be dead. I pretty much felt like I was dying the next day anyway.

tequila is the one thing i can't really drink anymore. THAT will make me kind of nuts.

my funny drinking a bottle of booze story: in high school i drank a bottle of rumple minze - not a huge bottle, but a smaller one - and i went to a straightedge hardcore show in brewster new york and during the show some dude stepped on my wrist in "the pit" and the last thing i remember was sitting on the floor in the corner of the club trying to repeatedly prop myself up with my hand and everytime i did i fell to the floor. cuz my wrist was broken. in three places. i didn't actually know this until the next day. i can't even tell you how many times i tried to sit up on that hand. hahahahaha!

this seems as good a thread as any to mention that there was a huge block party outside my apartment form the evening on, then maybe 5-8 gunshot 45 minutes ago, now there are helicopters circling and sweeping search lights back and forth. sheesh. i wasn't sure they were gunshots until the helicopters showed up--could have been firecrackers.

yeah, seems so. that was obv my "subtle" way of dropping it in. hate the self-centredness of the things but can't help but be enveloped by the feeling anyway. also hate that this version of Pictures of You is the 4:48 version and not the 7 minute one.

similarly, I slipped this happening into several conversations last night and then pretended to be all "yeah but I don't really care about birthdays". what a nob I was.

Entire bottle of booze story #1: I was at a party, didn't know half the people there, and among that half was someone I'd never met before who for some totally unknown reason took an instant dislike to me. In less than an hour he drank an entire large bottle of red wine, made a complete fool of himself, nearly threw up several times, then went outside to get some air where he promptly threw up all over the doorstep. Next morning the landlord nearly slipped over in the puddle of vom.

Entire bottle of booze story #2: office Christmas party, colleague does a similar thing, consuming a bottle of red in under an hour, and then spending the next two hours curled up in a foetal ball on the floor of a toilet cubicle only to be found by the CEO.

i have drank a bottle of whiskey by myself many times, not so much recently though, however my favourite drinking a bottle of spirits story centres on vodka. Was about 16, going to a party in the same street where I lived, my parents were on holiday so I was chilling in the living room by myself drinking vodka and cranberry juice and watching Short Circuit 2. Anyway I had drank over half hte bottle in a pretty short space of time and then felt really sick and went upstairs and threw it all up. So after waiting about ten minutes I started tentatively to drink again. I came to the "realisation", I put this in speech-marks because it was false, that I had got next to no effect from the half bottle and so quickly downed the rest. Walked up to the party and passed out on a bedroom floor after about fifteen minutes. I woke up and my friend was having sex with a fat girl on the bed o_0
