Boosh no question. Conchords lost me with the most recent season.

Pancakes are one of my favorite ways to party. (ENBB), Sunday, 26 July 2009 01:06 (fifteen years ago)

Boosh, for more logical allocation of facial hair.

ENERGY FOOD (en i see kay), Sunday, 26 July 2009 01:07 (fifteen years ago)

Why is this even a question? Conchords is a funny show full of funny people with funny jokes. Boosh is a wanky show with two wankers being fucking unfunny wankers.

I'm right! New Zealand ROCKS!!!

challop matters (King Boy Pato), Sunday, 26 July 2009 01:30 (fifteen years ago)

FotC is often great and I absolutely love the first season but I don't think it held up very well. <3 Murray for ever though.

u betta respnd, if u scared get a dog (ENBB), Sunday, 26 July 2009 01:31 (fifteen years ago)

conchords has better songs and jokes, but i just like boosh better

more posts that will never be released (electricsound), Sunday, 26 July 2009 01:39 (fifteen years ago)

FotC, even with the weak second season. I've only seen two Boosh eps and only laughed like twice.

Ok, going to be a hater here: dislike both of these quite a bit, but actually laughed a bit at a live DVD of Mighty Boosh and generally find Howard Moon quite cool (like him i am a pseud who loves jazz-fusion, claims spanish lineage, tries to write novels, etc.) although I find the show unbearably shit.

This might be an unprecedented statement, but King Boy Pato otm to the letter.

I agree. I'm able to re-watch conchords eps (from both seasons) but cbf'd revisiting mighty boosh at all

Suggest Banning anyone who seriously votes for the Mighty Boosh.

Desmond Decca Aitkenhead (Matt DC), Tuesday, 28 July 2009 11:28 (fifteen years ago)

C1 > B2 > B1 > C2 > B3

actually C1 v B2 is a really tough call. apples and oranges. forget about the rest.

ledge, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 11:28 (fifteen years ago)

have never rewatched Boosh tho.

ledge, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 11:29 (fifteen years ago)

don't get boosh. i'd laugh at them if they were people i knew doing the show in my front room, but as a tv show by two random weirdos, it's quite terrible.

FotC are brilliant geniuses, without qualification. everything they do is fantastic. if they did Boosh, it would be fantastic. but they don't.

Don't really understand the point of comedy that isn't funny, so FotC gets my vote

Aw naw, no' Annoni oan noo an' aw (Tom D.), Tuesday, 28 July 2009 12:03 (fifteen years ago)

Comedy-wise, FotC is like savouring a bottle of wine over an evening. Boosh is like necking a half bottle of vodka.

shit analogies "Я" us (ledge), Tuesday, 28 July 2009 12:07 (fifteen years ago)

it's maybe more like necking vodka that doesn't get you drunk, although you wanted it to get you drunk and everything on the bottle pointed to you getting drunk.

Bobkate Goldtwat (darraghmac), Tuesday, 28 July 2009 12:30 (fifteen years ago)

It's very well distilled vodka, nicely packaged, in an attractive bottle, but doesn't get you drunk

Aw naw, no' Annoni oan noo an' aw (Tom D.), Tuesday, 28 July 2009 12:33 (fifteen years ago)

Still never seen FoTC, though Rhys Darby has been pretty lol as host of Top 100 NZ Pop Culture Stories.

Heh, barely remember starting this, unsurprisingly for 2AM on a friday night.

I like both btw, but think one is CLEARLY superior.

i'm sure it would greatly influence voting numbers were u to reveal ur mysterious preference, and commend ur dedication to the service of democracy & truth

Bobkate Goldtwat (darraghmac), Tuesday, 28 July 2009 12:59 (fifteen years ago)

Boosh did too much coke and run out of ideas for S3, but S1+2 are pretty fucking good. Conchords' songs are better, but the stuff around the songs is rather more pedestrian, while Boosh made me laugh a lot.

Boosh had a great knack for a while of creating iconic characters, which is kinda the mark of being on a roll.

NotEnough, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 13:05 (fifteen years ago)

FOTC obviously have a debt to pay to the Boosh boys, however the second they came on the scene Booshmania was starting to get very old. Noel Fielding had become the male version of Lily Allen and the head-up-arse third season was a mess of repetitive cloying old schtick. By comparison FOTC's subdued post-whacky comedy and genius songs came across as very refreshing. Sadly I wasn't too sure about their second series but I'd def pit B2 against C1 in terms of greatness..

dog latin, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 13:10 (fifteen years ago)

They're both two chuckles an episode tops and anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves because they're embarrassed at how overexcited they got over the first few episodes of a mediocre sitcom.

HUHT~!

Susan Tully Blanchard (MPx4A), Tuesday, 28 July 2009 13:11 (fifteen years ago)

"Future Sailors" was when Boosh truly jumped the shark.

dog latin, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 13:12 (fifteen years ago)

subdued post-whacky comedy

Never use this phrase ever again.

Credit where it's due though, they're both funnier than Black Books, and who knows, they could improve enough to be funnier than Saxondale or some shit one day.

I have never laughed at Mighty Boosh and some of the worst people I have ever met are fans of it, so FOTC.

caek, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 13:46 (fifteen years ago)

haven't seen much of flight of the conchords but have seen some funny bits

the mighty boosh only ever completely unfunny

conrad, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 13:50 (fifteen years ago)

I like both of them but I do think it has been diminishing returns form the Boosh and...er...the opposite from FOTC. A third series might suck though.

Ned Trifle II, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 14:47 (fifteen years ago)

Hmm help me out here, does The Mighty Boosh feature a little character goes by the name of "Mel?" I know that Flight of the Conchords does... This might make the difference for me personally.

Sorry, at work and I only get snatched moments to write anything so it can come out a bit weuuurgh. I don't really understand why you don't understand what I meant though.

dog latin, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 15:11 (fifteen years ago)

Have only seen a handful of eps from each since no cable and no home computer, but FotC makes me shout at all the characters and read a book/hit "mute" during their songs. Boosh frequently incomprehensible but in that British way that it shares with The Young Ones and The League of Gentlemen. Plus mod wolves so obviously...Boosh for the win.

Like most people my age, I am 33 (Laurel), Tuesday, 28 July 2009 15:16 (fifteen years ago)

Why is this even a question? Conchords is a funny show full of funny people with funny jokes. Boosh is a wanky show with two wankers being fucking unfunny wankers.

OTM X 1000

I remember when Boosh were just the worst thing on BBC radio. Where do they find these unfunny art school folks to make shows for them?
