she's now dancing with it! classic. have seen a few timewasters up there - someone on her mobile phone last night.
― ledge, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 23:26 (fifteen years ago)

"P.S If you see me taking pictures of my feet that's what I'm doing"
― ledge, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 23:29 (fifteen years ago)
Yes, she's quite entertaining. My friend was on it but I only found out after the fact so missed it. I think he just sat up there updating his facebook status. I suppose it is meant to be some sort of portrait of society today or something, so yeah. To be honest, if I was up there I'd just read a book. Maybe take some wine and cigs. And a picnic.
― emil.y, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 23:31 (fifteen years ago)
i think she really has mental problems. i worry what will happen when she comes down from this, literally
― ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Tuesday, 28 July 2009 23:34 (fifteen years ago)
if i was up there i will recite the whole of jeff wayne's musical version of war of the worlds
― ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Tuesday, 28 July 2009 23:35 (fifteen years ago)
I was going to say with Chemistry Experiment backing, but you can only go up one at a time, can't you? We could set up around the bottom of the plinth.
― emil.y, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 23:37 (fifteen years ago)
What is she writing on the umbrella?
couldn't read it! hoping for a close up later.. i could read "hello" but when she said 'this is for all of you' i was expecting something more profound.. (or less profound??)
― ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Tuesday, 28 July 2009 23:40 (fifteen years ago)
Ah, I don't have sound. Is she babbling like a mentalist, then?
― emil.y, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 23:41 (fifteen years ago)
i wonder if anyone will commit suicide live on the plinth? this would fit in with the recent euthanasia stuff on the news
― ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Tuesday, 28 July 2009 23:42 (fifteen years ago)
yes she has been talking all sorts!!! kept mentioning something about an elephant!
and how there's no elephant on the plinth just now and her and the cut out, dancing, being happy, serious problems!!!!!
― ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Tuesday, 28 July 2009 23:43 (fifteen years ago)
ken, are you still watching? I can't work out what this guy's doing. Poo in a box?
― emil.y, Wednesday, 29 July 2009 00:15 (fifteen years ago)
now: unconventional chair sitting
― ledge, Wednesday, 29 July 2009 08:26 (fifteen years ago)
emily i stayed put to watch that guy with those boxes, wasted 15 minutes watching him unwrapping empty plastic boxes, in fact, then he just wanted to talk about archeology!!!! i can't believe he cheated 15 minutes out of my life like that
― ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Wednesday, 29 July 2009 10:40 (fifteen years ago)
so glad the website isn't working at work, in a way..
We were there last night to watch erstwhile ILXer Chris T-T up there with a guitar and amp. It was kind of cool.
― Matt DC, Wednesday, 29 July 2009 10:41 (fifteen years ago)
oh yeah saw chris TT i didn't know he was an ILXor!!!
― ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Wednesday, 29 July 2009 10:42 (fifteen years ago)
He had to restring his guitar at one point and helpfully informed the internet audience that they had about a five minute window to go and look at some porn.
Woman up there right now appears to be playing Hangman.
― Matt DC, Wednesday, 29 July 2009 10:43 (fifteen years ago)
These things are all archived, yay, watching Chris T-T right now!

― ailsa, Wednesday, 29 July 2009 10:52 (fifteen years ago)
It's awesome that Chris T-T was on, but maybe a bit fruitless me watching it without sound. Bah.
― emil.y, Wednesday, 29 July 2009 10:53 (fifteen years ago)
srsly glad/upset i cannot watch this at work.
― ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Wednesday, 29 July 2009 10:57 (fifteen years ago)
Erm, yes, crikey... I'll be plinthing between 18:00 and 19:00 on Thursday September 17th. There will be a "collaborative" aspect, so if you turn up you'll be able to take part. (But only if you... well, more of that at a later date.)
― mike t-diva, Sunday, 2 August 2009 16:43 (fifteen years ago)
Awesome, mike. Shall try to watch.
― emil.y, Sunday, 2 August 2009 16:48 (fifteen years ago)
Cool. Can you remind us nearer the time?
― ailsa, Sunday, 2 August 2009 16:51 (fifteen years ago)
Oh, you can count on that!
― mike t-diva, Sunday, 2 August 2009 17:29 (fifteen years ago)
OK then! I'll be dancing on the plinth on Thursday evening (September 17), between 6pm and 7pm, and I'm encouraging people to dance along with me - either in Trafalgar Square itself, or while watching the live stream at http://www.oneandother.co.uk
To take part, you can either stream or download the 60-minute mix (not a second more, not a second less) which I've compiled in readiness. It can be found at one of two locations (take your pick):
http://soundcloud.com/miketd/mikes-plinth-mixhttp://www.zshare.net/audio/65568530f16dea46/
(Track listing is in the "lyrics" tab of the MP3.)
At the top of the hour, I'll give a THREE-TWO-ONE-GO signal. Play buttons will be pressed - hopefully in approximate synch - and the party will start.
At the end of the hour, there will be drinking.
Here's my profile page on the official website: http://www.oneandother.co.uk/participants/miketd/
Here's the Facebook event page: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=135980332201
There's more info on my blog: http://www.troubled-diva.com/
Two more things:1. I'm a really crap dancer. But that's beside the point!2. The mix is chirpy, crowd-pleasing, stuffed with Personal Resonance, and really, really gay.
― mike t-diva, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 10:04 (fifteen years ago)
That's a great idea.
― krakow, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 10:19 (fifteen years ago)
Pimp! Bump!
― mike t-diva, Wednesday, 16 September 2009 15:31 (fifteen years ago)
Is that the dance you'll be doing?
― Mark G, Wednesday, 16 September 2009 15:33 (fifteen years ago)
It's as good a description as any...
― mike t-diva, Wednesday, 16 September 2009 15:34 (fifteen years ago)
Last pimp-bump, as I'll be dancing on the plinth TODAY.
― mike t-diva, Thursday, 17 September 2009 08:46 (fifteen years ago)
At this point in time, I would strongly advise you to not stop until you get enough...
― Mark G, Thursday, 17 September 2009 08:47 (fifteen years ago)
No more poison, killing my emotion. I will not be frozen. Dancing is my remedy.
― mike t-diva, Thursday, 17 September 2009 10:54 (fifteen years ago)
We are watching Mike on the plinth now. He has been dancing to 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing' followed by 'Just Dance'. Pattern emerging?
― Matt DC, Thursday, 17 September 2009 17:11 (fifteen years ago)
go mike
― conrad, Thursday, 17 September 2009 17:28 (fifteen years ago)
This is pretty fucking cool, ace mix too. And Mike's the second person this week I 'know' who's on the plinth.
― Terminator Eggs (Billy Dods), Thursday, 17 September 2009 17:33 (fifteen years ago)
Yes indeed! Like the shirt too.
― a passing spacecadet, Thursday, 17 September 2009 17:37 (fifteen years ago)
He's keeping the NRG hi... 'The best things in life are free' now.
― Matt DC, Thursday, 17 September 2009 17:40 (fifteen years ago)
He's now competing with a human beatbox with an amp in the middle of the square...
― Matt DC, Thursday, 17 September 2009 17:53 (fifteen years ago)
Well done Mike! Enjoyed the mix.
― a passing spacecadet, Thursday, 17 September 2009 18:05 (fifteen years ago)

― this must be what FAIL is really like (ledge), Friday, 18 September 2009 08:36 (fifteen years ago)
Well danced Mike, right to the end and beyond - loved the air guitar even as they were taking you away! Also great t-shirt.
― Ned Trifle II, Friday, 18 September 2009 08:49 (fifteen years ago)
Funniest thing was the green platform coming to rest to let the next person on, and it crushing Mike's water bottle and soaking him.
Nice to meet you last night Mike. Top dancing action.
― Matt DC, Friday, 18 September 2009 08:50 (fifteen years ago)
Thank you, all. It was a total blast from start to finish. Great to meet Stevem and Matt DC last night.
I recommend fast-forwarding to the final minute of http://www.oneandother.co.uk/participants/miketd for an unplanned Comedy Moment.
― mike t-diva, Friday, 18 September 2009 23:19 (fifteen years ago)
Another friend is on this now, playing the theremin.
― emil.y, Friday, 2 October 2009 19:21 (fifteen years ago)
So, it all ends today!
― Mark G, Wednesday, 14 October 2009 14:50 (fifteen years ago)
