Bovington Tank Museum - classic or dud

I went there when I was small. There were loads of tanks. All kinds, big and small. I remember they even had a motorcycle tank.

Have you ever been there? Would you like to go?

this triggered by Art Brut saying at Indietracks that they would like to have a music festival at the tank museum. That would rock.

Classic but not as classic as...

...(website contains tank like noises!).

I have a photo of me at Bovington looking nauseous after a ride around in a troop carrier. I shall endeavour to find it.

Bovington is great, though it's been nearly a year since I've been.

Motorcycle tank I imagine is the Wehrmacht "Kettenkraftrad", a Tamiya model of which I made when I were a lad:

Weird little thing, eh? IIRC you steer a tracked vehicle by braking the tracks on one side, it's hard to imagine the front wheel having much of an effect for steering the thing.

I have never been to Bovington Tank Museum, I'd like to go! They have a King Tiger (actually i think they have 2!)

OK, I hadn't been to Bovington since they re-vamped!

I would probably still prefer Muckleburgh for it plucky independent spirit. And the very geeky Radio museum.

I can't find that pic of me but I'm still trying.
Anyway it was this...
