The Tigger Movie was originally slated as direct-to-video, so my sympathetic write-in vote goes to it.

EZ Snappin, Monday, 3 August 2009 00:33 (sixteen years ago)

you misspelled...oh you said TIGGER

Apparently there's a million of these and I've seen exactly zero of them.

Nate Carson, Monday, 3 August 2009 00:42 (sixteen years ago)

i've definitely seen

The Return of Jafar (1994)
Aladdin and the King of Thieves (1996)
The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (1998)
The Lion King 1½ (2004)

and among those i think i'm going for simba's pride

8080's and internet break (k3vin k.), Monday, 3 August 2009 01:07 (sixteen years ago)

these all sound horrible, although i guess just by volume at least one of them has to be both competent and without too much of an air of cynical product about it

actually no, they're probably all horrible

thomp, Monday, 3 August 2009 01:12 (sixteen years ago)

But The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning features extensive footage of Ariel's sisters! What's not to like?

Pooh's Heffalump Halloween Movie is criminally underrated imo

velko, Monday, 3 August 2009 15:57 (sixteen years ago)

I believe only ONE of these had ("That's So") Raven performing a cover of "Grazin' in the Grass" by Friends of Distinction.

And only ONE had Lou Bega reimagining his favorite hit as "Disney Mambo #5."

I've heard that Bambi II is supposed to be all right, and possibly the only one of the direct-to-vid "quels" that doesn't induce a Ring-esque video-induced death.

Bambi II tells the story of what happened to Bambi right after his mom got killed and his dad led him away. The original movie fades to black at this point, with the first next scene being set a couple of years later. What happened in the time passed can be seen in Bambi II. Was that really necessary?

Both Cinderella III and Little Mermaid III are officially the last direct to DVD sequels ever and Disney did seem to want end it with a bang: they are well animated and show more effort than all the unredeemable money making crap that came before them combined.

Still miles away from classic though. Miles away.

Sebastian (Royal Mermaid Mover), Tuesday, 4 August 2009 02:16 (sixteen years ago)

I am happy and surprised they ended this direct-to-DVD sequel thing. Even more happy that I cld learn it from the Jamaican crab himself.

Sebastian has released two reggae albums for children under the Walt Disney Records label.

I heard Bambi III is a zombie film being made by Platinum Dunes.

Nate Carson, Friday, 14 August 2009 01:26 (fifteen years ago)

Brother Bear got a sequel. lol.

Am I wrong for thinking it would be hilarious if this just consisted of 75 minutes of Bambi sobbing uncontrollably?

I think what you're proposing might be skimping on the gore.

staggering results

I could've told you this was going to be a hot-button issue. Expect rioting in the streets over these results.

pretty sure the winner's the only one i've actually seen

thomp, Saturday, 15 August 2009 00:12 (fifteen years ago)

eleven years pass...

Watching Cinderella III: A Twist in Time... it’s surprisingly enjoyable! Funny, good story, gently tweaks the original while deepening the characterizations. The animation is also quite good, for one of these.
