I remember watching it when it was first shown on TV and my parents just bought the dvds of it now it's out for the first time on DVD

Is it worth watching them now? I did like it at the time but have no idea what i'd think of it now. Can anyone remember what it was like?
Was it known outside of Scotland? (I assume it must have since it has always been credited with launching the career of Emma Thomson)

Pretty impressive cast list
* Robbie Coltrane - Danny McGlone
* Emma Thompson - Suzi Kettles
* Richard Wilson - Eddie Clockerty
* Katy Murphy - Janice Toner
* Maurice Roeves - Vincent Diver
* Stuart McGugan - Bomba MacAteer
* Jake D'Arcy - Fud O'Donnell
* Ron Donachie - Dennis Sproul
* Fiona Chalmers - Glenna McFadden

It certainly seems to be fondly remembered. My mum was delighted when she found out that this was out today - so I did my best to find her a copy when I was out at lunchtime, but my local HMV and WH Smiths and even, oddly, Amazon all seemed to be sold out.

Tutti Frutti and Your Cheatin Heart do seem to be fondly remembered by a certain age group (ie our parents age) but I dont really remember much about Tutti Frutti other than the interplay between Richard Wilson and Katy Murphy and of course the ending (you cant forget that)

"the same guy" = fairly well known playwright and artist John Byrne, probably otherwise best known in the wider world for letting Tilda Swinton kick around with another, younger, bloke while still living with him.

Tutti Frutti was nowhere near as good as I remembered it. I remember Your Cheating Heart being tedious as fuck to teenage me, but I bet if I watched it now I'd enjoy it more than Tutti Frutti.
