lathe method, starting in the middle, then working my way to the ends, as the kernels in the middle are better than the ones on the ends, thus if I get full before finishing it, I'll have ensured I've eaten the best part.

I prefer the lathe it is tastier that way. I have to tell a story, my neighbor left corn on the cob outside after a barbecue. My dog found it and he ate the whole thing cob and all, it was so cute. He had never seen corn on the cob before and loved it it made his day.

I wasn't sure because it's been such a long time since I had corn on the cob that I can't remember which method I use!

I remember being inspired very early on to do 'typewriter style' by a Disney cartoon in which an infuriated Donald Duck is eating corn-on-the-cob while riding a train.

I was at a music festival the other week where there was a long line-up I thought was to get into the venue. "No, that's the line-up for the corn," my friend sez. Apparently there is this special roasted corn that has chili and lime on it and people were absolutely crazy about it. I really wanted some but the line-up was incredibly long... FOR CORN.

That corn is called elote and they sell it at the White Sox, too. Yummy.

That corn is freaking amazing, and awesome, and you should eat it bcz it is delicious. It's also why I carry dental floss around (sneak to the bathrrom & floss after eating corn).

Clicked this thread intending to say this, pretty much. Only I don't remember which cartoon it was specifically, but I do distinctly recall a typewriter sound effect that I couldn't figure out how to emulate while also eating corn.

Haha, reminds me of the episode of The Simpsons where Bart and Lisa go to the military academy and overhear some cadets after hours: "That was some good corn. It was worth sneaking into town for!"

Typewriter style always struck me as prissy.

seems like women don't like corn that much. or they don't like polls.

I use the "eat big chunks randomly all over cob while occasionally turning it" method, augmented with the "corn juice and butter all down chin and shirt front" enhancement.

I think that's the nabisco method.
