james, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Sharon Davies lives behind my local Tesco's.

Dom Passantino, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

michael, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

geeta, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

james, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Anton Fier lives upstairs and I have only ever had one very brief conversation with him. He wears dark pressed blue jeans that he cuffs.

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Fran Healy lives in our local KFC as I was telling The Pinefox the other day.

Pete, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes! Well sort of. And I saw him in Muswell Hill WH Smiths a couple of months ago.

Anyway as has been documented we live in Slebland with many a third rate soap star, a couple of first rate soap stars and assorted other minor slebz in our neck of the woods. The last one I saw was Jason Durr, PC Mike Bradley from Heartbeat, in baby Sainsbury's.

Emma, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

who is anton fier

james, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

when i lived on chatterton rd it was purported that nick hornby lived on the same road. i do not know if this is true, but it is certainly true that freddie ljungberg, thierry henry and a few of their mates often kicked a ball around on this footy pitch just round the corner

gareth, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

you london folk take all the fun out of celeb spotting - visit the boondox and see what its like to go for years without seeing someone off the telly

james, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

So, I work a little bit down the road from Tony Blair (ha ha nearly typed Tiny Blair) and I am not impressed by any of these FORMER PMs ha ha. And anyway Spencer is living in the Big Brother house!! I am sure Kensington Oval has many slebs in da house (the AOL gurl got mugged in Kennington?) but I do not know them yet - surely they must all fancy a pint in Shenannigans.

Sarah, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Famous people in Kennington / Oval? What about Tom Ewing The Famous Internet Journalist?

Emma, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The Big Brother house is in my hometown so my poarents now live near Spencer. And Albert Square.

Many a time as a child I would be stuck in Tesco's behind Pat Butcher out of 'Stenders buying fags (a different type to the Silk Cut she smokes in the show - she has the posh menthols).

Pete, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

mark s, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Emma, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Sarah, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Emma, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ladies - BE NICE

james, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I waited for 3/4 of a lousy hour outside the stage door to see Bernie Winters in 1987. When he finally made an appearance, with a blanket draped over his head, he refused to sign autographs, give piggyback rides or even do that funny thing he does with his eyelid. Since this experience it's very hard for me to see celebrities as anything particularly special.

Claire, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yes that's her

mark s, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ha ha my head does not hurt and will NOT hurt until (maybe) next week as I have given up the BOOZE!

Sarah, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Do we have a thread where people tell enormous lies for I think Sarah just told a whopper. No booze until next week - hah!

Pete, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am going to do it!!! (I may need to get erstwhile flatmates to hide the GIN from me though although I bet they will torment me, the gits or at least the aforementioned interweb journalist might..)

Sarah, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(Ok my main problem here will not be the gits shrieking but it will be my GUTS - you see?)

Sarah, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

also i saw the guy who directed ID at the bus-stop (he was also in a mike leigh film)

mark s, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Is he the guy who also directed EGO and SUPER-EGO too?

Sarah, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

And produced Freud: The Musical?

can't let bad joke die, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

nickie, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

As the pure and noble superego of ILx, I smite this foolish id.

The Id Smiter, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The German Defense Minister's lovah lived on my street until recently; my wife & I were in an Italian restaurant with the two of them at the next table when three obvious mafiosi walked in. Hilarity ensued (and we got the heck out of there).

Colin Meeder, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I live NEXT DOOR to Simon Le Bon. Amazingly, I also live NEXT DOOR to Yasmin Le Bon! Wild!

Mark C, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Terry Waite lives near me; I was on the train back from London Bridge with him two weeks ago, and I thought 'what a rude man' as he was taking up two seats himself, leaving me to perch on the edge precariously (especially precarious as was drunk). However, he wasn't being rude. He is just very, very big - he could have been a basketball player or American Wrestler.

A local Indian restaurant has a dish called 'Terry Waite's favourite' which I had, and it was OK. It isn't really his favourite though - just a dish knocked up for some tabloid journalists doorstepping him upon his return home from Beirut. Oh well. Quite tasty though.

Lawrence Llewellyn-Bowen lives round the corner, as does Danny Baker. And John Stuart Mill wrote On Liberty at a house down the road. But he doesn't count, being dead.

Nathan Barley, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, no one off the telly or involved in the arts or political or renowned lives near me.

jel --, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Frank Butcher, erstwhile 'enders star, lives down the road from me in a big posh pink-painted house.

Keith Flint from The Prodigy buys a lot of clothes from the f expensive shop Stephen works in in town: he always tells them to "Stay cool"

David, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Haha good grief no I live in East Ham (in London's glamorous East End). Two years ago when buying a house we said we wanted this area and could only afford up to about £125,000, and we were told that there weren't any houses more expensive than that in the area. How many famous people are likely to live here? I do see a few in town, though.

Martin Skidmore, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I live near Paul Gascgoine, Billy Connolly moved out of the area a while back and of course I've had a few binges in ex-Liverpool manager Roy Evans' garage, thrown up on his carpet, made his daughter cry, slept in his bed whilst he was on holiday. I always wanted to get a job as a sports reporter so I could go up to him after a match and say "Roy,Roy, Channel Five . . . . . I've done buckets in your garage . . "

Lynskey, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i grew up down the street from gordie howe's daughter. i went to school with the dart kids(look at the bottom of a styrofoam cup), bastards one and all.

keith, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I keep seeing Bruce Kent (former RC Monseigneur, now CND and general political activist) around the Green Lanes/Finsbury Park area so I guess he must be a local resident.

David, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i had a flatmate who would practically wet her pants because duane zarakov used to visit our next-door-neighbours house.

queenoftheharpies, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The Thompson Twins live near where I am right now. Also New Zealanders, Peter Sinclair used to live above me with his boyfriends.

maryann, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

they say that kaikorai valley is full of famous stars but i hate them worse than lepers & i'll kill them in their cars

, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Tristan isn't that famous

maryann, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

obviously it doesn't take much to be famous down here

ducklingmonster, Thursday, 13 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Half the Everton squad live round here. So no, no-one famous.

Matt, Friday, 14 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I live NEXT DOOR to Simon Le Bon.

Even after all of these years, as a durannie I am extremely jealous.

And I didn't even like Simon, he was too pompous and chubbie...

Nicole, Friday, 14 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Now imagine if the next door neighbor was Nick Rhodes.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 14 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

shortly after i wrore that i nearly did kill myself in my car.

unknown or illegal user, Friday, 14 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)
