as a veteran of Andrew, Francis, Jeanne, Katrina, and Wilma, I can say that no power is no fun.

I was on Kendall Drive and 142nd Avenue during and after Andrew, and I agree with Alfred. 100%.

ha i already forgot about that. i was in columbus post-ike and lost power for only 48 hours. it was fun. i went to bed at 9 for two nights because there was nothing to do and took showers by candlelight. i had to throw out a lot of food though. a lot of my friends had no power for a week. what a weird place to have a hurricane.

The day Ike was due to hit, my apartment complex was completely empty. Maybe 4 of us stayed behind. That morning I cooked all of my bacon, and we lived of BLTs for a few days after the storm hit. I wasn't that scared until, we heard things snapping and breaking at 2 o'clock at night. Also the sound of the wind alone was frightening. I shouldn't bought more wine. Even though I stocked plenty, in times of stress, wine goes quickly. I'm going to work in Georgia for the fall, then Florida. So I will still be in a hurricane's reach.
