the braves thing comes from a long running TBS campaign back when they carried their games and tbs being part of everyone's basic cable. it was bullshit then, and obsolete now

I can see the argument for the Cowboys and the Irish, but there's no one affiliated with either team who offers a concentrated cocktail of hateworthiness and would-be-all-Americanness like Derek Jeter. Not even close. And so Steinbrenner's boys take it.

Jerry Jones has turned the Cowboys into the sleaziest big sports team, which is saying something. Other than maybe 86 Mets, I don't think there is a scuzzier club than those early 90s Cowboys teams. The old Landry Cowboys were kind of respectable and did a bunch innovations in the game, but Dallas has been loathsome for years and has not really anything to talk about considering the hype.

Some Yankees fans and the owners are pretty skeezy, but crap they won 21 of those titles before Steinbrenner, so it isn't like "The Boss" invented the mystique. I can't hate on Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra or Lou Gehrig.

Notre Dame hasn't been a real power since the 70s. They were pretty good for a couple of years under Holtz, but Miami owned them (speaking of scuzballs). I still can't figure out why NBC pays that much money to carry the games, other than there must be a bunch of retirees in Boca watching the games. It is all living in the past.

I'm going the Cowboys, as I think Jerry Jones just oozes that same kind of GWB scum.
