the international sports media really outdid itself with this one. poor kid...results not meant to be released for 2 weeks, i understand the IAAF hadn't even contacted her, and she has to discover something like this via an AUS tabloid.

I agree Lex - I read it in the SMH and then I read the Graun take which basically said it wasnt official and the SMH had leaked it anyway... grrr stupid Aus meathead media.

Former Olympic champion Carl Lewis says officials from Athletics South Africa (ASA) shoulder much of the blame for how the Semenya story has played out. According to the First Post, Carl Lewis bluntly told the ASA: "It's your fault." Lewis goes on to say that athletics officials should have protected Caster Semenya from the controversy: "She is your athlete in your country and you didn't deal with this before. To put it out in front of the world like that, I am very disappointed in them because I feel that it is unfair to her."

Very unfair of the ASA to caster out into the media spotlight.

I mean this is really going to make it difficult for her to see men, ya?
