"the walker"

do you guys have one in your neighborhood? This might not really apply to major urban areas where there are a lot of pedestrians anyways, it's in suburbany settings were I’ve witnessed this phenomenon. These are people that you see on pretty much a daily basis who are just walking, seemingly not to be going anywhere in particular and not specifically for exercise. They are just always walking. These people may suffer from a mental condition but I done know. I have witnessed them in different towns in different places I have lived. They are always called “the walker” btw.

We had "walking guy", urban legend was that he was a former mathmatics professor who thought too deeply about higher math...also, that he had his deceased parents hair woven into his own, for a long, matted ponytail.

where im from (rural ireland), theres a guy who just walks around the country roads around the village always with wellingtons and a green coat. i'd say hes in his late 30's. never talks to anyone. had a spell there where he cycled in out to tipperary maybe twice a day (thats 20 miles altogether) while wearing his trademark wellies. apparently was quite smart back when he was younger could have gone to college when he was younger. rumour has it his mum is a completely insane harridan.

My old town had a plethora of walkers, including Virgil Troy, "the walker", Mr Muscle, Speedy and R2D2 (a woman, equal opportunity hooray). Oh and McPhee who was always "Roaming the aisles of the chapel of our lord".

Most exotic there was Brian the mysterious cyclist. Didn't matter what part of the SI you were driving to Brian would turn up along one of the roads peddling furiously.

Streatham has an old guy who walks about with a boombox blasting fire and brimstone sermons. He's particularly fond of my road, as that's where the local fire and brimstone and shouting and singing church is. I can hear him going up and down the road all the time.

There's a hairy dude who cycles around the south side of Glasgow with a cat on his shoulder (or there used to be, haven't seen him for a while). Sometimes the cat hides in his hair.
