Just saw this film last night, starring Michael Sheen, originally spearheaded by Stephen Frears. Tells the story of Brian Clough's time as manager of the Leed United (and Derby County) football team. I didn't know ANYTHING about this film, or the story - but gosh, what a joy. Sheen vanishes into the role. The story is so elegantly told (by Spooks' (!?) Tom Hooper), with a cinematographic palette that reminded me of Michael Clayton or perhaps This Is England.
The story's arc is a little bog-standard, but still, this was just such a charming, striking little film - even if there were historical inaccuracies.
