morbz, sign up to dropbox.com instead - it's way easier/better than photobucket or flickr. it creates a special folder on your desktop, any photos you want to make public you put in there, right click on a photo and go to 'copy public link' and that is the link you use on somewhere like here (along with image tags).

keep in mind that if you move the photos, the links will break (i.e. if you link to a photo from your dropbox folder, but then create another folder within dropbox and move the photo to that)

Their first three monographs will be released next month. They've got a relatively ambitious slate of future titles extending into 2015 (at the rate of three per year, granted, but that still adds up to 21 titles).

Titles they've shortlisted also, thankfully, bear almost no relation to the list of the best gay movies as chosen by AfterElton (which I won't link at all).

anyway, last night i went to this poetry reading where i met all these young queer poets whom i hadn't met before, somehow, and then we went drinking and all sang "I've Got the World On A String." of course, i was a little loose and so i went to Honey at Paradise, where i saw every fag i've ever known in SF (practically), and made out with this boi who looked like he was going for a sort of skinhead fetishist look... then i lost him because monsieur sp3rber bought me a drink. i got sad because i lost skinhead kid, so i decided it was time to go home. i have to TA in an hour, and then work at XLR8R, and then go put a deposit down on my new house, and on top of this continue to not go insane with work and lust.

in other words, doing swell.

altho tbh i've never really been into the whole drag thing. i just feel like if i want to see that, i want to see like, a man who really really looks and acts like a woman. not a gay men playing dress up.

A supposedly astounding stage production of Bent was just on in Montreal a few weeks back, and I nearly went to see it with fellow ILX0r rrrobyn, but life was super busy that week, and it didn't end up happening.

When entering the world of gay dating you have to think to yourself: how many demands can I afford to make of the other person? Like, do they need to be: smart, cute, together, *and* already experts in my personal pet subject areas? Because if you're already expecting smart and cute and gay then you've just thinned an already pretty small population massively- but it can also be worth holding out for people who are on your wavelength about film but not music, or music but not film, or books but not music. If you expect a total match (i.e. "they need to love Nurse With Wound and Renaissance literature and Agnes Denes just as much as me or it's just impossible") then you're stuck wanting to date yourself (which, alas, seems to be the not-so-secret problem of a lot of high maintenance gay men, and *especially* younger ones).

i dunno if i'd call it that -- just realizing that i've let a lot of friendships dwindle in part because we spend so much time together, and having this weird misplaced resentment towards him about my shrinking social circle. misplaced because he's always encouraging me to do my own thing socially, but for some reason that's harder to do comforably now than it used to be.

just feeling a bit weird about my pattern of seeking his approval when it's not even necessary. or even healthy. :(
