In the UK, as mentioned above, the answer is usually Tescos, as long as you have one of those out-of-town giant aircraft hanger ones within reachable distance.

Can't believe you wouldn't think of Boots as the obvious place to go for nailclippers though.

Another answer in this case could have been to buy a box of crackers and open them all until you reached the nailclippers gift.
