Using the word "nonsense" like it's all you need to win an argument - dud or dudder?

lol, I was just reading a Celtic forum and someone just posted this neither of them are good enough to be playing for Celtic and that's a FACT. End of.

Sadly, he didn't take his own advice, and kept on making his point, badly.

End of == this is where I stopped thinking

I saw a horrible woman interviewed on BBC Breakfast who used 'It is, quite literally, political correctness gone mad' in this way. In her mind it was obviously an argument-clincher, so she was totally unprepared for any follow-up. I wish I could remember who she was. She floundered at the acid tongue of, erm, Bill Turnbull for a good minute afterwards. Great viewing.

Bill Turnbull is an intellectual heavyweight, and that's a FACT.

SBana Ng (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 4 October 2009 17:50 (fifteen years ago)

lol, I use "nonsense" as an argument-ender sometimes.

Daniel, Esq., Sunday, 4 October 2009 17:52 (fifteen years ago)

People who use 'PCGM' always think that it's supposed to seal the argument. When really it's just the start!

Ned Trifle II, Sunday, 4 October 2009 17:53 (fifteen years ago)

No, it often does end the argument cos life's too short to spend "discussing" anything with the sort of clown who'd drop that phrase straight-faced.

SBana Ng (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 4 October 2009 17:54 (fifteen years ago)

What does "PCGM" mean?

Daniel, Esq., Sunday, 4 October 2009 17:56 (fifteen years ago)

"political correctness gone mad"

SBana Ng (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 4 October 2009 18:04 (fifteen years ago)

This woman, though, it was her argument-opener as well as argument-closer ... utterly joyous to see her crumble at the cruel, cruel hands of Bill and Sian

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 4 October 2009 18:29 (fifteen years ago)

I think I remember that interview. Mind you, it probably happens every week.

The dead-eyed harpy from the hilarious "Tory Party Conference" (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 4 October 2009 18:35 (fifteen years ago)

I can't believe they got the "nonsense" called before the judge on some nonsense.

Euler, Sunday, 4 October 2009 18:41 (fifteen years ago)

"end of" is definitely mental poison.
