Jon Ronson should be pretty pumped that Ewan McGregor is playing him, regardless of the nationality he's portrayed as in the film.

clooney's american accent good, mcgregor's american accent abysmal

this movie is pretty fun, not really great and the story they tack in is pretty dumb, but a lot of good LOLs

the book is brilliant, well worth reading - the tv documentaries he made for it and his previous book 'them' are around on torrent sites and well worth watching.

I'm not sure how you would accidentally add a period, a C and an X to a large marquee but I just wanted to say that this poster does not flatter McGregor's actually quite robust jawline.

I liked it. Start to finish, except for some brief discomfort midway through thanks to the Fort Hood incident.

saw this last night. it was funny, i guess, but a little disappointing... the trailer shows most of the funniest bits.

really not good but every actor who isn't failing at an american accent (was Ewan hired just for the jedi meta?) comes off ok.

This is weird, but I didn't even notice McGregor was doing a poor job with the American accent, and I'm generally *very* sensitive to that sort of thing. He was doing very much of a 1980s newscaster "General American" accent, which very few Americans actually have. But it's the one we're presented with as "our accent," so we just sorta accept it.

For the record, as a speech student in the 1970s, I had to learn the General American accent, so I know of what I speak.

P.S. I'm a U.S. Southerner, and I cringe at nearly every "Southern" accent in the media, so I'm aware of the phenomenon.

i liked this. was wondering how the rotten tomatoes thing was so low for it because uh its just a ok comedy yall and then i saw my first few quotes of "how when war and awful things rage in iraq can someone make little of it by blah blah blahg" bullshit and had an OIC moment.
