I wonder if any regulars frequent any of LUSENET's other bbs? I believe Duane mentioned thee "anarchy" forum, and tanya posted an ILM/ILE question to the "coutryside" forum. I keep noticing s.th. called the "corporate suckup forum" too....Sometimes it appears that the "HTML test forum" is invading ILE (eg on "font" thread)...Honestly, I haven't got time to check out much of this in depth - reading ILE takes up all my spare time at work...so, do any of U lot have any pointers to interesting stuff? Oh, to-day, after wondering for a while what it meant as I skrolled past it, I chex0red thee "aeon flux" (sp?) forum. None the wiser, I'm afraid. I suppose I could use google, but I guess I'll get better answers from U lot. Here's a q. I found there:

"My husband would love to see me in an Aeon costume. He believes I can get away with wearing one. Any info would be greatly appriciated. Yes, I will post pics when I get a costume constructed."

"He believes I can get away with wearing one?" WTF?

Don't use any Lusenet forums apart from ILM/E. I post to urban75.com from time to time, though, as I know DG also does - anyone else?

used to post, now and then, to the stereolab board at monash 'back in the day', and very infrequently to the warp one (although no longer).

I check out Metafilter - it's my home page @ home. Other than that & the ILME bitches, nothing. I DO have to eat & sleep, y'know.

Norman, Aeon Flux is a cartoon character from the future when everyone is very tall and thin. She fights against Trevor, the ruler of the world (or part of it). But also she loves him. And other people.

do you have any URLs for hotties in Aeon Flux costumes?

Only ILE and sometimes ILM. Sporadically Kindamuzik's message board. I used to read Bitchpork as well but gave up a while back.

As Robin said, I also frequent the Urban75.com forum, as well as that CatHate board I linked to ages ago and recently the Channel 4 and SOTCAA boards.

DG, Friday, 3 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I post to that CatHate board, too. It isn't as much fun now that some intelligent-acting anti-cat people and some stupid-acting pro- cat people have shown up.

Thee DiRTY ViCKaR WRiTeS: Norman, Aeon Flux is a cartoon character from the future when everyone is very tall and thin. She fights against Trevor, the ruler of the world (or part of it). But also she loves him. And other people.

My thanx, yr reverence, for this k-rad info. I fear the cartoon could never live up to your description! Trevor, the ruler of the world?!?! Oh maaaannnn.....And here I was thinking something called "aeon flux" would be some barmy new-agy healing-crystal-type-thing. One lives & learns.

do you have any URLs for hotties in Aeon Flux costumes?

As a dirty vicar, I suggest you study thee following links VERY carefully. Thanks again, google!!!

"Studying the videos and the Herodotus file, she deftly fashioned the outfit from upholstery leather and spent several hours sculpting her hair into the all-to-familiar gravity defying hairdo using hair gel and wire."

"Tuesday (costume designer by trade) sewed the costume out of PCV and fastened the garment together with rivet-style buttons, set in with a grommet maker to achieve the mechanical look of Aeon's clothing. The knee braces were made from plastic model parts and "super sculp". After being painted with a faux metal finish, wide velcro straps were used for attaching the boots (at the expense of comfort)."

in general more specifically

The whole look seems to me to be extremely reminiscent of jean giraud/moebius comix. That, and "gothic babe of the week", anyway. x0x0
