cheez-it (and its many varieties): c or d?

am eating some of the "hot & spicy" cheez-its (with tabasco sauce!) right now and am ambivalent.

The plain old original Cheez-its are classic. I have yet to have any of the Cheez-it spin-offs that were as good.

am accustomed to stuffing handfuls of them into my face. original style.

there was a NOVA special on last weekend about NASA's preparation and execution of the spacewalk to repair Hubble, and in one of the scenes where all the engineers are sitting around some room poring over some plans, there was about a half dozen jumbo sized open boxes of Cheez-Its surrounding the team. if they're good enough for the best of the best at NASA, they're good enough for me.

This describes my experience with the "White Cheddar" variety - the cheese-flavored powder quickly became noxious.

"flavor blasting" sounds like something you'd do to a guy who emerges from a toxic spill area in a hasmat suit

the whole beauty of cheez-its is that the cheese flavor is actually in the cracker and not dusted on: powdering them undermines the very values on which cheez-its were built

and they REALIZE this, hence all the commercials about "how do they get the cheese taste in the cracker"

my mom always gives me better cheddars when i go home, so they're still made and distributed to acme stores in ohio.

I'm always intrigued when long-established American brand make a belated entry to the UK. Cheez-Its have finally arrived here - and they're just OK? It's good they're baked not fried, I guess.

But I'm not super fond of cheesy snacks, so maybe other Brits will enjoy them more. I think they'll remain in the UK crisp/snack offering, for sure.

They're not the same apparently. I haven't tried them but have seen ppl online saying the ones that have appeared here aren't acutually the same as the ones back home.

Thanks ENBB, I wonder if that has to do with different availability of ingredients in Europe and the USA. FWIW I sampled the 'Double Cheese' flavour and I think there's a spicy one available too.

During the lock-in insanity of the pandemic, I bought every single variety of Cheez-Its available at the grocery store so the family could rank and compare them.

Regular was the clear winner.

I like the white cheddar variety, I don't want orange fingertips anymore
