If Munich manages a third-place finish, I will process it as a landslide win.

cough syrup in coke cans (Eric H.), Friday, 30 October 2009 16:54 (sixteen years ago)

Munich now, but BBM is fine melancholy middlebrow fare.

lihaperäpukamat (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 30 October 2009 17:00 (sixteen years ago)

Which is more than one can say for Capote.

cough syrup in coke cans (Eric H.), Friday, 30 October 2009 17:04 (sixteen years ago)

I had completely forgotten that GNAGL had a Best Pic nom.

Simon H., Friday, 30 October 2009 17:16 (sixteen years ago)

The worst film won that year so I'll be fine with anything else winning. But I adored six-dimensional portrait of Capote so that.

Kevin John Bozelka, Friday, 30 October 2009 17:24 (sixteen years ago)

THE six-dimensional...

Kevin John Bozelka, Friday, 30 October 2009 17:25 (sixteen years ago)

The worst film OF ALL TIME won that year.

cough syrup in coke cans (Eric H.), Friday, 30 October 2009 17:25 (sixteen years ago)

Actually, with the exception of Crash, the list runs from flawed-but-excellent to mediocre, which is several steps up from the usual.

lihaperäpukamat (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 30 October 2009 17:27 (sixteen years ago)

I'd say it's about on par with any of the other years of late. One or two dece and three indifferent-to-worse.

cough syrup in coke cans (Eric H.), Friday, 30 October 2009 17:29 (sixteen years ago)

2006 and 2008 were awful!

lihaperäpukamat (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 30 October 2009 18:24 (sixteen years ago)

I've only seen one of these movies and it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Guess which one!

one less mouth to feed is one less mouth to feed (Shakey Mo Collier), Friday, 30 October 2009 18:32 (sixteen years ago)

I only saw the last two on the list, and of the two I'll vote Munich, which reminds me I really need to watch it again. Some really, really powerful imagery in that movie.

Bears Are Alive! (Pancakes Hackman), Friday, 30 October 2009 18:33 (sixteen years ago)

cripes...well, munich is the best one though it had a few problems.

jØrdån (omar little), Friday, 30 October 2009 18:33 (sixteen years ago)

Loved Munich and also need to see it again. Voted for it here anyway. Thoroughly enjoyed GNaGL too but it's kinda lightweight imo.

Geir Hypothesis (Noodle Vague), Friday, 30 October 2009 18:35 (sixteen years ago)

I've only seen one of these movies and it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Guess which one!

^^^^^ This.

I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Friday, 30 October 2009 19:07 (sixteen years ago)

Although I'd maybe curb the hyperbole a bit and say 'definitely the worst movie to be nominated for a best picture Academy Award that I've ever seen'.

I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Friday, 30 October 2009 19:09 (sixteen years ago)

goodnight and good luck, tho i would be interested in seeing munich. i can't imagine myself enjoying brokeback, capote was pretty dumb, and crash was obv the worst movie ever.

call all destroyer, Friday, 30 October 2009 19:09 (sixteen years ago)

xpost

Speaking of, has anyone seen the Crash television show? I can't help but think that it has to be better than the movie.

I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Friday, 30 October 2009 19:10 (sixteen years ago)

is there a .gif of the dude in 'munich' getting stabbed in the TOP OF THE HEAD - how dope - anyway totally <3d movie

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 October 2009 19:28 (sixteen years ago)

I remember when no one liked Munich. It was back before Judd Apatow name dropped it in Knocked Up and suddenly everyone thought it was badass. < / Morbs >

cough syrup in coke cans (Eric H.), Friday, 30 October 2009 19:33 (sixteen years ago)

Or maybe not. Spielberg & Kushner's Munich '72 / Israeli vengeance film has more stan than I remember four years ago.

cough syrup in coke cans (Eric H.), Friday, 30 October 2009 19:35 (sixteen years ago)

The Munich thread had some good posts!

lihaperäpukamat (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 30 October 2009 19:36 (sixteen years ago)

My sister asked about GNaGL today bump.

cough syrup in coke cans (Eric H.), Sunday, 1 November 2009 23:53 (sixteen years ago)

I saw all of these in theaters but can't remember Capote at all and barely remember Good Night and Good Luck but thinking it was the most deserving out of those. Munich I've come to appreciate more as I bought it and use it in my classes. Anyways the Golden Globe nominees were much better that year, mainly for its complete snubbing of Crash and they nominated The Constant Gardener and Squid and the Whale, my 2 favourite movies that year.

danzig, Monday, 2 November 2009 02:44 (sixteen years ago)

The worst film OF ALL TIME won that year.

this

I only saw that one and Munich so I'm not gonna vote, but I did like Munich a lot.

iatee, Monday, 2 November 2009 04:29 (sixteen years ago)

Munich.

The Perfect Weapon 2, Tuesday, 3 November 2009 06:01 (sixteen years ago)

Who cares? Go vote in the 1940s poll.

Kevin John Bozelka, Tuesday, 3 November 2009 06:32 (sixteen years ago)

Brokeback, Capote and GNGL all good. Haven't seen Munich. I'll probably go with Brokeback.

OK Abacus (chap), Tuesday, 3 November 2009 15:48 (sixteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

System, Thursday, 12 November 2009 00:01 (sixteen years ago)

Threw my second vote to Munich.

cough syrup in coke cans (Eric H.), Thursday, 12 November 2009 00:04 (sixteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

System, Friday, 13 November 2009 00:01 (sixteen years ago)

crash got way too many votes imo

iatee, Friday, 13 November 2009 00:04 (sixteen years ago)

Lol. I agree.

Kevin John Bozelka, Friday, 13 November 2009 00:07 (sixteen years ago)

No way this poll would've gotten these results in early 2006.

cough syrup in coke cans (Eric H.), Friday, 13 November 2009 02:30 (sixteen years ago)

RIP revisionism.

Hell is other people. In an ILE film forum. (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 13 November 2009 02:35 (sixteen years ago)
