not music, but people saying incredibly lame, cliched and unrealistic things all the time while making super intense eye contact. at least it doesn't have the 'and here's some MORE exposition!' problems that FlashForward has, but they both seem to being going on the wrong track with their dialogue, seriously, i don't get it. i mean, it's not like Lost was particularly realistic, but it just seemed much better at this from the getgo.

i just rolled my eyes when Juliet flirts with her partner at some point, "do you know, you sound sexy when you're _____". Also, Scott Wolf is a terrible actor, especially next to someone who actually has as much natural charisma as Baccarin.

I mean, yeah, it's a little silly and overly glossy, but I am sad to say that I was completely riveted. :(

I stopped watching it halfway through, an annoying telemarketer called in the middle of this and by the time I was off the phone I wasn't interested enough to try figure out what I had missed.

i made it through the whole episode without completely losing interest, but yeah, not terribly promising huh. never saw the original, i assume the whole lol "the aliens are using viral marketing!" part is new.

Kenan, quite the opposite, I was interpreting as pro-Dem bias trying to simplify the right as stereotypical tropes. Even the anti-V meeting was presented as survivalist nutjobs, until the 'bigot must restrain his racism' bit when the leader and the black guy are outside after the attack.

honestly the show was such a muddle of mixed metaphors, meaningless symbolism and stock sci-fi distortions of how the world actually works that i really didn't get any kind of political statement or subtext out of it

What's sad is that when I was watching this when Scott Wolf was on all I could think about is how come there aren't any Party of Five reruns on anywhere? It's not like it was quality television, but it was a guilty pleasure of mine.

Did Party of Five have all kinds of pop trax in it that would be expensive to pay for now? (See also WKRP)? I would watch 4-5 hours of syndicated Po5 tbh, if only to lol at my younger self...

truth be told i thought this was ok. a bit perfunctory and way too fast-moving, but otherwise i don't get some of the outright hostility directed at it. it's got me interested enough to watch it next week.

The after-show response to the second episode of this was exactly as it should have been.

This show is straight-up stupid. Let's not count the ways. Let's just forget this ever happened.

No, it just ceased to make any sense at all. Like, let me get this straight... they are super-intelligent space travelers, who have been infiltrating our government for decades in disguise as part of a plot to master and exterminate humanity, and this is the first time, the FIRST TIME EVER, they have encountered a reporter. That one thing, they have no grasp of.

No, tat's the key to defeating the writers of the show, should they try to invade. They won't get far. So many things made no sense whatsoever. It's plotted for commercial breaks, not narrative. It's bad. It stinks up the place, honestly.

amazed this got renewed for another season but i guess they were going to pick this or FF (which I would have preferred because Joseph Fiennes' performance is sort of transcendentally awful and entertaining)

don't know if it's merely incredibly dumb or totally goofy that they ripped the "fake Obama supporter attack on McCain volunteer" incident to fuel the storyline this past week. too bad the letter V is horizontally symmetrical!

FF definitely canned then? That'd be kind of a shame but also kind of a relief.
