there were 100 active users is ilx about 10 minutes ago.

i think i didnt see so many people around here at the same time.

is it beacuse it's monday and everyone is depressed going back to work or just catching up with ilx after doing more usefull stuff at the weekend?

Weekends are clearly the slowest. Whenever the most USA ilx-office-worker-bees are buzzing around the hivemind is going to be the busiest time.

are you planning on bombing ILX?!

Def not weekends, nor fridays. Mornings (European time) are very quiet. It's only when the Americans are at work when it gets really busy.

Well, it depends on how long ago a post can be made that counts the person as 'active'

In the morning, UK time, it can go 18 actuve users, but it can seem just as busy as when it's 65.

yeah, particularly if you're on eurocentric threads

fourteen years pass...

except for occasional bursts of concentrated activity, such as happened last Friday when the NY judge handed down a $355M ruling against Trump, ilx seems to spend most of its time these days like a cat - curled up and lightly asleep. this is neither bad nor good, but is a clear sign of advancing age.

Well, remember the time change: the UK/Ireland contingent's posting at what we think are the wee small hours.

Dont the bursts of activity depend on where on ILX you are looking? I had no idea about the trump ruing causing a flurry of activity here because I never read the affected threads (the US politics ones I assume).

OTOH, when a certain game comes out, its thread can be active for weeks/months with everyone who is playing it, cf Elden Ring, Baldurs Gate, BOTW etc.

ilm in particular feels like it's been busier since the year end poll. some stretches last year were pretty quiet.

my own ilxperience has been high-quality since i stopped looking at politics threads. a lot of good posting going on.
