Zing Touch: ILX now ON IPHONE (and ipod tooches too)

After spending forever in review, the ILX iPhone app has been approved.

WHAT IT CAN DO
- Read and post to ILX (or the Sandbox or any other server running a really recent version of ConversationBoard for that matter)
- Set and delete bookmarks
- Automatically check for updated bookmarks
- See pictures in posts, resized for the screen
- Open Youtube and links in its own browser
- Quote post text
- Easy bold and italics in the post composer
- Post drafts automatically saved until you delete or post them

COMING SOON
- Polls: Right now the threads are displayed, but the options aren't there and you can't vote
- Starting a new thread

WHAT IT WON'T DO
- Work with the old-style bookmarks. If you've set them in preferences, unset them to use Zing.

WHAT IT NEEDS
OS 3.0 or better (if you've got an old iPod Touch you'll have to upgrade, but 3.0 is miles better anyway)

Zing Lite is free on the app store. There is also the buy-Stet-a-pint version, Zing Touch, which is £4.99/$7.99 and will probably get new features first. Right now they are identical, except for some wee ads in Zing Lite.

Featurerequests: reordering of boards in the board list, so I can drag my favourites to the top. And those little filled-or-hollow bullet points that tell me whether there are new posts in a thread.

The bookmark is style old style ON IPAD but I might be the only one who uses that

I love this update, but I do miss the old gray color scheme and little toggle button, but it's a tiny thing.

I still miss the gradients-everywhere and reflective-black v1 tbh. Down with flat design.

question about the new bookmark button—it’s great how it turns to a checkmark when the message is bookmarked but then it quickly turns back to the bookmark icon—is it possible for the checkmark to persist?

getting that multiple accounts thing again, forget where the executable is supposed to live to prevent that. Moved it out of the download area to application but no dice.

On the Mac? Yes it happens when it’s in the Downloads folder. You’ll have to trash the plist to fix it - it’s in ~/Library/Application Support/com.haunteddancehall.zing iirc

So I deleted the last of the five instances that were shown and then they all went away. I reentered and now I only have one for the nonce.

Not sure if this is a known issue — if I search from SNA, then click into a thread, then back out (right swipe or arrow) I’m back at SNA and not at the search results.

I can’t reproduce that — it’s going back to the search results for me. What phone/OS are you using?

I’m on iPhone 16 Pro and iOS 18.2. I’m finding when I’m off the app for awhile and come back to it I can’t load threads, search or put bookmarks. I have to swipe out to force close the app.

This is happening for me now too. I’m not sure what has changed, I’ll take a look

I've submitted a build that mostly fixes this issue, still working on the search problem

Appreciate the help, stet, tho I am still having this problem.

Weirdly it does unroll more search results after a certain amount of time. But it still doesn’t allow me to open any of them.

Now on 18.3.1 BTW.
