Anyone watching Rochdale-Luton on ITV4 at the moment? It's quite good - Rochdale are an exceedingly nifty bunch.

William Bloody Swygart, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 21:10 (sixteen years ago)

Also, the Luton fans have realised that, with the stadium being pretty sparsely attended, anything they chant will be heard on air. So they've just been chanting for Iain Dowie, who's on co-commentary duty tonight (and is not at all bad at it).

William Bloody Swygart, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 21:14 (sixteen years ago)

And Rochdale have just been done by the outside of Kevin Gallen's boot, Luton 1-0 up on the hour.

William Bloody Swygart, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 21:22 (sixteen years ago)

Finally, something goes right for Morrissey.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 21:31 (sixteen years ago)

Leeds vs. Kettering is on ITV4. Kettering just equalised. 1-1. This Is Quite A Good Game Of Ball Ball Ball Footy Footy Footy.

William Bloody Swygart, Tuesday, 8 December 2009 21:23 (sixteen years ago)

It's extra-time. Kettering are right in this aside from Anthony Elding being basically immobile by this point.

William Bloody Swygart, Tuesday, 8 December 2009 21:57 (sixteen years ago)

Might watch the rest of extra-time now...

102. LJ: British. 5. (acoleuthic), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 22:06 (sixteen years ago)

There was something so inevitable about the TV remote not working, it taking 10 minutes to get the TV working, and then Leeds to score within 30 seconds of me getting the TV working.

102. LJ: British. 5. (acoleuthic), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 22:19 (sixteen years ago)

The TV was then turned off, btw

102. LJ: British. 5. (acoleuthic), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 22:25 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, very possible but we could still use the cash from an Old Trafford match.

l'homme moderne: il forniquait et lisait des journaux (Michael White), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 22:26 (sixteen years ago)

this is true

it's gonna be a long old championship relegation battle next season ;-)

102. LJ: British. 5. (acoleuthic), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 22:27 (sixteen years ago)

hahahahaha leeds you utter bastards

102. LJ: British. 5. (acoleuthic), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 22:31 (sixteen years ago)

It would be beneath me to respond to your provocations, you know that, right? ;)

l'homme moderne: il forniquait et lisait des journaux (Michael White), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 22:31 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, NOW they show wwith the goals. Jeeze.

l'homme moderne: il forniquait et lisait des journaux (Michael White), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 22:31 (sixteen years ago)

Well, there's a decent chance of my own club being involved in that same relegation scrap next season too! Provided Norwich don't overhaul us.

102. LJ: British. 5. (acoleuthic), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 22:33 (sixteen years ago)

Is four goals for one team in a single half of extra-time a record?

102. LJ: British. 5. (acoleuthic), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 22:34 (sixteen years ago)

I'm sorry, I can't recall who you support.

102. LJ: British. 5. (acoleuthic), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 22:38 (sixteen years ago)

Oh, so you're a Charlton fan? I've got nothing against Charlton at all. I was always a fan of them in the PL under Curbishley.

l'homme moderne: il forniquait et lisait des journaux (Michael White), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 22:43 (sixteen years ago)

Unfortunately, we are a completely different club and team now. Much like your good selves. I don't know whether I'd rather have been in a CL semi-final this decade and now be in this position, or not!

102. LJ: British. 5. (acoleuthic), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 22:45 (sixteen years ago)

I was in Paris in 2001 when they lost to Valencia. Not a good memory.

102. LJ: British. 5. (acoleuthic), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 23:02 (sixteen years ago)

I'll always have a soft side for Kewell after that stunning goal that cost Arsenal the league in '98-99 (I think).

l'homme moderne: il forniquait et lisait des journaux (Michael White), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 23:19 (sixteen years ago)

Matt DC, Sunday, 11 April 2010 17:39 (fifteen years ago)

kinda feel like the plucky little Portsmouth jizzing will probably overshadow that aspect of it in the press coverage

I suppose the first semi did have that whole attempted murder thing to add to the story though

MPx4A, Sunday, 11 April 2010 17:42 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah I like Avram, anybody who gets completely fucked over by Chelsea has gotta be doing something right.

or at Everton when Moyes gets the United job n.b. this might actually happen

Moyes would bring the necessary psychotic My-Team-Right-or-Wrong mentality for Manyoo, it's true.

What this place needs is an LCD Soundsystem thread (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 11 April 2010 17:59 (fifteen years ago)

Decent draw that. Chelsea-Pompey final I reckon, Pompey going all Palace/Brighton/Boro in the end.

Pompey fielding a weakened team would be just brutal viewing.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 11 April 2010 18:12 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah, any comedy value from this result kind of evaporates when you envisage John Terry heading his fourth goal of the day in the final, kissing his badge and mouthing "thass wot it's orl abaht"

MPx4A, Sunday, 11 April 2010 18:13 (fifteen years ago)

^^^this was in my head pretty much as soon as I realised Spurs wouldn't just, like, win comfortably

forgive me fada (acoleuthic), Sunday, 11 April 2010 18:15 (fifteen years ago)

Shit yeah, the mental horrors are mounting - Stanley Matthews' legendary hat-trick eclipsed by Terry, Kalou and Sturridge each notching four; sundry new ministers showing their Chelsea colours; Lampard and Drogba forming a pity guard as Avram trudges up for his losers' medal...

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 11 April 2010 18:21 (fifteen years ago)

um stanley matthews legendarily assisted 3 goals, mortensen got the hat-trick

forgive me fada (acoleuthic), Sunday, 11 April 2010 18:31 (fifteen years ago)

I realised that soon as I clicked, but my version is actually better because you just know that's how it'll be reported

more chance of england winning the world cup

mdskltr (blueski), Sunday, 11 April 2010 18:51 (fifteen years ago)

Wonder how much Portsmouth's creditors would they get if they win the cup?

Pompey collected £900,000 today, £900,000 more if they lose the final and £1.8mn if they win it.

Are Spurs still owed money? They could do well out of this.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 11 April 2010 19:29 (fifteen years ago)

And I bet 'arry 'ad a flutter 'imself.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 11 April 2010 19:29 (fifteen years ago)

I'll be the third person in two days to lament this bent farce of a game.

Dawson, lol, waiting to happen all game.

Ref knew his place. Pompey in the final, never in doubt.

Palacios misses next two games. Perfect.

I hadn't thought about Palacios. So he's out against Arsenal and Chelsea?

Expectations for season revised down from 'finish above Liverpool' to 'finish above Villa'.

Matt DC, Sunday, 11 April 2010 22:31 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, although he was pretty bad again today he's still absolutely our best option to balance midfield, particularly against those two.

bale- awesome, again.

Jesse James Woods (darraghmac), Sunday, 11 April 2010 22:33 (fifteen years ago)

We have another good option to balance midfield but unfortunately he spent this afternoon sitting on the ITV panel rooting for Portsmouth.

I was watching the real cup final, and flicked over to this one three times. Coincidentally, and with barely believable luck, this allowed me to see Solomon Kalou missing a sitter, Didier Drogba punching and rattling the goalposts in anger, and Fwank missing a penalty. Happy day, except for the whole Chelsea winning thing. Did I miss anything else?

ailsa, Saturday, 15 May 2010 17:00 (fifteen years ago)

Chelsea hit the woodwork five times in the first half, Ailsa. And Pompey missed a pen at 0-0, immediately before Drogba slammed a free-kick in (off the post, inevit). So you were lucky in your channel-hopping but the first 45 was pretty incident-packed.
