NEW YORK DESERVED 311 (ice cr?m), Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:21 (sixteen years ago)

I helped judge a science fair last year & if you get the chance to do so, I highly recommend it. It is so much fun to see all these wiggly, nervous, excited kids explain their stuff. "So? my dad? likes to make barbecue? so I thought I'd do my experiment? on which acid breaks down meat the fastest?"

milliband (Abbott), Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:23 (sixteen years ago)

Think I'm torn between animal magnetism, drop it like it's hot and plants and pop.

bear say hi to me (ENBB), Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:25 (sixteen years ago)

Also, electro worms.

bear say hi to me (ENBB), Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:26 (sixteen years ago)

I went with "What Is My Dog's Favorite Color?".

milliband (Abbott), Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:27 (sixteen years ago)

wld rly like to know what the Code of the Meniscus is about!

milliband (Abbott), Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:27 (sixteen years ago)

I'd like to vote in an uncruel manner, but Animal Magnetism keeps drawing me back.

FC Tom Tomsk Club (Merdeyeux), Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:28 (sixteen years ago)

"help" is just so simple and powerful!

would love to judge a real science fair.

Maria, Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:28 (sixteen years ago)

Electro Worms kid looks like he is having some intense feelings.

milliband (Abbott), Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:29 (sixteen years ago)

I am a little worried that if I don't vote for Plants and Pop kid he will hunt me down and kill me.

bear say hi to me (ENBB), Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:31 (sixteen years ago)

can we talk about science projects we did?

one year i did a comparative analysis of various household substances (sugar, baking soda, salt) on the growth rate of potted marigolds, that one was pretty good. better than the one where i used a wooden mouse maze to test whether or not a cheese incentive compels a mouse to move through a wooden mouse maze quicker than without, which was at least a crowd pleaser cause i got to bring my mouse to school. other science projects i can recall include a study of the relationship between mass and aerodynamics which involved throwing various objects (at a "consistent" velocity that i controlled by concentrating on it), and magnetizing guitar strings to see if it changes the pitch (it doesn't).

anyway, JUICY BEANS

Do Video Games Affect You?

hahaha this reminded me of one that I did in jr. high w/ my friend

we were trying to test if people scored higher or lower on tests after playing computer games for an hour

our friends didn't really want to take the tests tho, so we just made up all the data

iatee, Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:33 (sixteen years ago)

lol what were your findings

ice cr?m, Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:34 (sixteen years ago)

I think we decided to go w/ "they score slightly worse on the tests"

iatee, Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:35 (sixteen years ago)

At the science fair last March there was this one kid who won showers of awards with some amazing project about wind energy. The great thing was is he had fangirls! Like all the junior high chicks were just in awe of him, and would follow him around giggling, and would report with screams to eacfh other if he said anything to them. One girl was explaining to me, "HE is just SO AMAZING. He could submit his project to like ANIMAL SCIENCE and still get all the awards because he is THAT AMAZING," blush giggle blush.

milliband (Abbott), Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:36 (sixteen years ago)

as a small geeky Britisher I would wish we had Science Fairs. Instead the first time I had to design a science experiment was in chemistry class aged 17. I'm guessing that fun would've been discouraged. :'( (I electroplated some aluminium with copper!)

FC Tom Tomsk Club (Merdeyeux), Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:37 (sixteen years ago)

This same girl won a mouse skeleton from the biology department for her experiment about whether mice liked heavy metal or not, M3t4l Mic3 (googleproofed)(apparently they do). She was so stoked! It was kind of the perfect award for her project.

milliband (Abbott), Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:38 (sixteen years ago)

juicy beans

gerbl (Pillbox), Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:38 (sixteen years ago)

can't you just make a mouse skeleton at home? all you need is a mouse

iatee, Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:39 (sixteen years ago)

all you need is a mouse, no food, and time

iiiijjjj, Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:40 (sixteen years ago)

http://cognitive-psychology.suite101.com/article.cfm/psychology_of_heavy_metal_music

A student named David Merrill subjected mice to the music of a heavy metal band called Anthrax 24-hours a day to discover how it would affect their ability to learn new things, but instead of completing Merrill’s maze, the heavy metal mice all killed one another.

o wau.

FC Tom Tomsk Club (Merdeyeux), Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:43 (sixteen years ago)

24-hours a day? wouldn't that kinda fuck you up no matter what the music was?

iatee, Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:48 (sixteen years ago)

Mr. Merrill has been working for CIA as a consultant since graduation.

ice cr?m, Sunday, 15 November 2009 19:57 (sixteen years ago)

Guest :
rock music is bad for animals but not humans. It acually is very good for you and it is very good to listen to . some bands like rage against the machines teach you important lessons in your life the government and its power. Bands like system of a down made a new song on the war of iraq called "boom" it is very educational and tells people to stop the war on terror. Also, rock music just lets your body and soul go and its like your meditating.

loving the james brown pic on "will there be minorities in heaven?"

it's a harb knock life for us (Curt1s Stephens), Sunday, 15 November 2009 20:28 (sixteen years ago)

also I'm pretty sure "me say creation how about you" is actually "some say creation how about you"

it's a harb knock life for us (Curt1s Stephens), Sunday, 15 November 2009 20:33 (sixteen years ago)

There are a lot of "this guy"s in that group.

bear say hi to me (ENBB), Sunday, 15 November 2009 20:34 (sixteen years ago)

my favorite is the crystal meth one - such dark implications in that picture

it's a harb knock life for us (Curt1s Stephens), Sunday, 15 November 2009 20:35 (sixteen years ago)

also I'm pretty sure "me say creation how about you" is actually "some say creation how about you"

OMG! I just assumed it was "some say creation how about you" but "me say creation how about you" just made me spit out my coffee! Thanx crut (sorta)! :)

Question: what exactly is photoshopped in the DTs pic?

Some of these look brilliant. Others I can't even wrap my head around. Foot fetish??

Y'all did notice the pic of Charmin in The Right Wipe, right?

Hands down winner: Plants and Pop! (Not a Stevie Wonder experiment)

Thanx ice cr?m!!!

Kevin John Bozelka, Sunday, 15 November 2009 20:44 (sixteen years ago)

Question: what exactly is photoshopped in the DTs pic?

Booze bottles, pic of Mel Gibson, the title of project.

Crystal Meth one is great. Finally someone answers the big questions.
