I don't know if I am into SLJ as our hero the caveman, but I'd give it a shot at least. It should be really trippy, tho, and have lots of scary colors and rays coming out of tall buildings and filmy directorial tricks to make normal things feel ominous and evil.

How was dude gonna end up as anything other than a caveman with a name like Romulus Ledbetter?

P.S. I'll bet it was the kids in school calling him Romulan Bedwetter that sent him over the edge.

It was actually quite good. Just about the best thing Jackson ever did.

has anyone ever actually met a homeless genius/enlightened spiritual mentor?

I hate this cliche

Well I mean in this case he is homeless precisely because he's mentally ill. It's not, like, a coincidence or something.

the book was great, the movie was dire, esp disappointing as i loved kasi lemmon's first film (Eve's Bayou) and so had thought she could capture the feel of the book but alas alack (incidentally, kasi lemmons had a really small part i always felt got cut in editing as Jodie Foster's roommate in Silence of the Lambs)

in re moondog, the wife of a good friend was a regular collaborator - there is a great dbl cd "The German Years" which includes his final concert, called "The Last Concert" which is with Dominique on piano, http://www.amazon.com/German-Years-1977-1999-Johannes-Leis/dp/B0002MRE00
