After a light dusting off snow last week in time for December first, Montreal is getting its first PROPER snow of the season today. 20-30 cm today, 5 more overnight and another 5-10 tomorrow, apparently!

Ever wonder how an M2F biopic might have worked as a high 1940s melodrama? Then get thee to The Christine Jorgensen Story directed in 1970 by an actual veteran of high 1940s melodramas, Irving Rapper (most famous for Now, Voyager). Camp to the tits with "don't let's ask for the moon"-style one-liners that just do not work and a once-in-a-lifetime performance by the very pretty John Hansen (who seems to have vanished). Not to be missed.

And now IMDb tells me Rapper did some uncredited work on my beloved Sextette. Maybe it's time to revisit his work starting with The Gay Sisters (1942).

I saw Irving Rapper do a Q&A at a NY screening of The Corn Is Green! Back when he was, you know, alive.

I think eric and surm have valid points. I do appreciate the balance that you (tabes) brings, and I know you're not trying to be braggy, but it can come off as such sometimes, especially with the name dropping.
