I believe Hamburglar has a couple of diminutive accomplices. I will go and sit in the kiddies section tomorrow to make sure.
If any of you couldn't be arsed to click onto, as I believe the computer buffs say, N.'s link to 'Hamburglar nabbed on Intellectual property theft charges' I reproduce the following:
"We do not believe that the ordinary reasonable person, let alone a child, viewing these works will even notice that Pufnstuf is wearing a cummerbund while Mayor McCheese is wearing a diplomat's sash," the appeals court wrote.

I was talking to someone about the hamburglar just recently. mcdonald's advertisers don't utilise him enough no more.

I did however, once write a short story called "The Boy in Mayor McCheese" that was about a kid that was getting slightly too old to be playing in his local McDonald's Playland, yet was foolish enough to continue to do so despite that. One day he just barely squeezed himself through to get inside the big circular Mayor McCheese head in the centre of the Playland, this was the kind with a slide and bars all around it's sides so the children could look out, and as you can well imagine, the boy couldn't get out quite so easily as he got in. He became trapped inside Mayor McCheese. The rest of the story was eerily not unlike "Bubble Boy", as he grew up inside the head, had many adventures, and fell in love. I always pictured the giant Mayor McCheese head silhouetted on a sunset beach, the boy and his girl holding hands through the bars. A real tear-jerker. Easily my best story ever. Well that and the one about the Sequin Mines on planet BG- 79. But I'll save that for another day.

1) 'Robble, robble' - connotes 'rob'??
2) How Mark S kickstarted this whole discussion the other night.
i. macdonalds anthropomorphism => cannibalism ii. he is a burglar = we endorse theft

I too never ate a hamburger until I was 12. I went to McDonalds, ate a hamburger and watched ET for the first time, all on the same day.
Things are never that exciting these days.

The original Grimace was actually the only truly threatening figure in McDonaldland and apparently was all scary and shit with like eight arms and got to be called "The Evil Grimace" - but look at him now! His evil grimace reduced to a goofy duh-huh grin and his eight arms are merely futile flipper stubs. Poor old Grimace.

I thought Evil Grimace only had 4 arms, for stealing shakes:

Hm ... Burger Time ... yes, that rings a bell too. Odd how some of the most basic games were so fun (if I am remembering aright). Chuckie Egg?
