No thread on this as far as I can tell. Anyone watched it? I've just started and am really enjoying it. I'd say it's the first time I've found a TV show that was billed as being similar to Twin Peaks that actually reminds me of Twin Peaks, if only a little.

I'm just a few eps in but really hooked....so what does ILX think?

Saw the first season when BBC2 ran it and loved the hell out of it. Voted it very high on the 90s TV poll. The Swedish surgeon who thinks all Danes are disgusting savages is funny as fuck.

Have never got round to seeing season 2 because I don't know if/when the BBC showed it. I saw a little bit of it in France one time but Danish with French subtitles kinda taxed my viewing abilities. It looked good.

Von Trier doing his little devil horns at the end of each ep means I will always uncritically love the guy forever.

(a.k.a. The Kingdom, btw, but not much of a thread either)

I like it very much! Have both seasons and watch every now and then. \m/

Funny as Riget is, I remember it also being genuinely spooky and unsettling as well.

The very end of the first series (and, to a lesser extent, the plot thread in the second series that follows directly from that) is probably the most WTF thing I've ever seen on TV.

Ah okay my bad on the title, I just read about it and downloaded it as "Riget". It is sort of spooky in places, and quite sad. The Swedish guy is really fucking funny tho, just something about him, he never actually says anything lol directly funny. The Von Trier bits at the end of the episodes are really good too.

xp

It would've WTFed me more if I hadn't already seen cult video nasty/headfuck Xtro, which pulls a similar scene.

Damn I wanna get DVDs for this now but I've just spent my Christmas money on an Aki Kaurismäki set.
