Yeah I did tho', for true, it was quite a goddam buzz even tho blah blah blah I hate movies blah blah blah. How 'bout you, have you ever been in the pitchers?

I have been on television several times.
Dont you hate it when - during a street interview - people will stand behind the interviewee and start waving and screaming "Hey mom I am telly!".

In 1982, my sister and I appeared on a segment of _Captain Kangaroo_ - - I ended up doing most of the talking, which should surprise nobody. The segment was part of a series about kids doing odd things or having parents who did neat stuff -- at the time my dad commanded a nuclear submarine, so that was sufficiently neat. ;-)

I was in a great movie made by me and my Dad about the moon but really it was just on a beach. My Dad was a good a actor. And me and Tim Teen and my sister made a puppet show movie. We edited it and Tim made up a song.

Which movie is it Duane? Are you credited, 4th Dead person or something like that.

Billy Dods, Saturday, 4 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yes, but it's too painful a story to relate.

Nick, Saturday, 4 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No. Probably never will be 'cause I'm the sort of person who'd demand royalties every time my face appeared on screen.

The Real World is shooting approximately three blocks from my apartment, and I am irrationally afraid of appearing in the background of some street scene.

Nitsuh, embrace it. Dress like a japanese teenager or a Beverly Hills Socailite.

anthony, Saturday, 4 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No, any purposeful interaction with the filming would just get me arrested. People in the neighborhood have taken this as an opportunity to rail against Viacom, and something like 30-40 people have already been arrested for creating disturbances around the house.

I've been happy to learn that most of the places I like to go won't allow Real World cameras inside.

They were doing on of those slice of edmonton things on the news last night. They asked me what i liked to do at nights. I replied sodomy and chaos. My answer was not on the list.

anthony, Saturday, 4 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

the news only promotes obsessively organized sodomy.

ethan, Saturday, 4 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Explain.

I am the second member of my family to appear in a pop music video. My grandpa was better than me, though.

This movie Duane is in is called 'Snakeskin', it's funny. The director is Gillian Ashurst, it's her first big movie. It's a road movie and Duane's band Spacedust play a scene in a pub.

maryann, Saturday, 4 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Billy - yeah what Maryann said. I'm just credited as a member of Space Dust. It'd be a real good movie for anyone to see w/ me...or actually, no, it'd be a real *annoying* movie to see w/ me 'cause it's full of various landmarks (geographical/human/musical) from my life so I'd be going, Hey there's my sister! Hey that song playing now is my band(/my mate's band/band I useta be in)! Hey I know that guy! , all the way thru. my diar y entry for Aug. 4th has some stuff about it if you wanna go look.

My shopping trip down the Kings Road on Saturday was interrupted by a lady from Channel 5 shoving a microphone in my face. What would I do if I won a million pounds? I decided my real answer (quit my job and give myself a modest annual salary for doing nothing) would be too weird so stammered a bit, gave them a cliche (I'd go on holiday) and hopefully guaranteed that they wouldn't broadcast it.

My Dad was on a game show hosted by Terry Wogan. A bunch of bloke office workers (the Bowlers) competed against a bunch of lady office workers (the Brollies) but I can't remember any more than that because I was wee. He was also picked out by the London Marathon cameras because he was the first person to finish in fancy dress and David Coleman got his name wrong. My father is Colemanballs!

I was once on the local news for a spot on the Concordia College Language Villages in Minnesota. The reporter made the mistake of grabbing me as an example of diversity. He'd just gone on a spiel about how the Language Villages attracted kids from across the country, then asked me where I was from. He faltered when I said Hastings, but soldiered on and asked me how I enjoyed the experience. He was expecting me to be ultra-psyched because the coverage was during the end-of-camp party and I was dancing like a fiend. Instead, I said, "Well, last year was a lot more fun. Actually, it was kind of boring this year." Cue reporter hastily shoving me back into the crowd and trying to cover the gaping hole I put into his segment. When my mom picked me up the next day, she couldn't stop laughing.

Dan Perry, Monday, 6 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yes. As a result a couple of friends from my school/college tracked me down, but I never got an equity card... or paid.

K-reg, Monday, 6 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

my friend katharine and I made a movie about shoes that can walk by themselves, and the shoes went on a date with the boots. the boots were wearing a moustache and glasses and bow tie. The boots were mine so I guess I was the boots and katharine was the shoes?
