I think it's sort of cool.

clever: it's like they've made it INTENTIONALLY dull, obvious, and pointless to actually speak the obvious critique of this like some sort of Marxist

I wouldn't want to broadcast my recent purchasing history to anyone, and I don't really give a shit about what any of my "friends" are buying either. The idea of swiping my credit card at some store and then having that charge show up on the internet for others to view is just not appealing at all to me.

Would like to hear from people who like the idea of this though just out of curiosity.

Isn't this what Facebook got in trouble for a couple years ago with Beacon? I mean, obviously the main issue there was consumers' activities were being broadcast on their Facebook feed without their knowledge or consent, but I think the public outcry also had to do with people not wanting that sort of stuff to be public knowledge.

Yeah, I think the difference is that this is clearly something you only sign up for if you want all of your friends to know this kind of information.

It's odd though. I don't know if they have any privacy settings (haven't checked), but a lot of these pages are public . . .

Just saw $10,000 worth of hotel charges on one guy's feed, for instance.
