take me to your lemur (ledge), Friday, 29 January 2010 11:39 (sixteen years ago)

So anyway. Why alarm not go off when I am awake and waving phone around?

take me to your lemur (ledge), Friday, 29 January 2010 11:51 (sixteen years ago)

Maybe it's making sure you're not just thrashing?

Jblujlama (ljubljana), Friday, 29 January 2010 12:19 (sixteen years ago)

thrashing furiously?

It'd be good to have more info on how to interpret these graphs - for example whether my graph illustrates good, bad or an acceptable night's sleep.

Bob Six, Saturday, 30 January 2010 11:16 (sixteen years ago)

yeah I now half expect the app to debrief me every morning and tell me what it all means. lol 21st century

saaberonixx (baaderonixx), Saturday, 30 January 2010 11:25 (sixteen years ago)

And adjusted for seasonal variation - it's seems like it freezing in the UK for months now - I'm probably waking up when the duvet's slipped off.

I'm questioning this things reliability. Alarm window opens: 7:45, as I'm coming out of a deep sleep. i'm at light sleep or even awake by 8:00. So why doesn't the alarm go off till 8:15, when i'm going back into deep sleep?

take me to your lemur (ledge), Monday, 1 February 2010 16:19 (sixteen years ago)

I think the 4 hour coma is indicative of poor response, maybe I need to test and recalibrate.

Update: sick of sleeping with an iphone and being dimly aware of it every time I semi-wake up.

what if you share a bed?

also apparently won't record naps? I guess it sees them as statistically insignificant, but HOW DOES IT KNOW?

haven't used this in a while after changing to a slightly more dodgy bed setup

dyao, Saturday, 13 February 2010 09:18 (fifteen years ago)

dodgy bed setup

sounds intriguing

One of the things about this app, is that it the running average does help remind me of how little sleep I get sometimes, and prompt me to take an earlier night now and then.

nine months pass...

One of the things about this app, is that it the running average does help remind me of how little sleep I get sometimes, and prompt me to take an earlier night now and then.

This is otm.

A couple recent results, representing very very different nights.

This is a decent night of sleep. I can wake up and function after this:
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i191/fluxion23/sc-nov-10.jpg

This is last night. This may not even qualify as sleep. I think the tiny spikes near the bottom may have been trains going by, or the cat. This is as close to death as I get without actually beginning to decompose. And as it wasn't really sleep, I felt like hell all day today.

Either your iPhone fell off the bed, or you sleep on a rock.

SleepCycle's just been upgraded.

Haven't had a chance to explore it much - but it's now got a snooze function and you can choose songs from your iPhone as the alarm. The set tunes - 'forest glade', 'morning mist', 'warm breeze' etc - now have the mysterious 'urban call' joining them.

I functioned on this yesterday:

these graphs are ridiculously oversmoothed

caek, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 01:33 (thirteen years ago)

one month passes...

my graphs look crazy different every single night. i guess it's not good to be deep asleep for long? seems that after nights where i sleep extremely deeply, those are the days i feel like i never truly woke up.
